CC seems to be forcing the false outrage.
By the time he concedes that the team is better with Favre, everything else is rendered meaningless. TJ and Sage knew this was a possibility, and if anything, it has appeared as though the players did know more about the Favre situation as it was happening than the general public.
CC is always a better commentator/analyst when he’s in cool-heads-will-prevail mode.

Contradictions
1) Cris states that the players have been lied to because of Favre’s retirement dance. He seems quite upset by this.
2) Cris then says that the players knew Favre was coming before he showed up, and seemed upset by this proof of the lie.
3) Cris next suggests we’re all very naive to think that the Vikings and Favre didn’t have this all planned out ahead of time.
4) Cris then tells us that Rosenfels has to feel betrayed by all this because he was brought in with the understanding that he’d have a chance to compete for the starting job (has Rosey demonstrated that he’s better than Favre?).
If the players knew… if the team knew… if Favre knew… the only people left in the dark is the general public and the sports announcers, e.g. Cris Carter. Gee, no wonder he’s upset… How dare the Vikings not keep Cris informed on what’s going on!?!?!
Bastards.
Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
SKOL!

Actually...
1) is in specific reference to the two QBs— who in the videos that I saw of them after Favre’s signing DID seem to have not been in on the “Favre will blow into camp after the pre-season games are already underway” plan
2) is in reference to whatever players gave this impression. And those were very recent impressions. I don’t think the WHOLE TEAM had believed this from the start of training camp when management and coaches said that we were moving on without Favre and with the QBs that we had. I think the QBs (who were the specific reference in point 1) were lead to believe that once camp started it was going to come down to a competition between the two of them. Jared Allen is another one who either thought we were moving on without Favre, or is a heck of an actor in his videos.
3) What is this in “contradiction” to? Carter is right. They remained in contact. And while the team may have actually wanted Favre to be in camp when it started, it was apparently never Favre’s plan to do so. His plan was exactly what happend— sign up after the preseason games had already started.
4) Sage would probably tell you the SAME thing as Carter does. Again, what is THIS in contradiction to?
You may not agree with Carter’s points, but I don’t really see the “contradictions” that you are talking about. Maybe you could have just titled it: “Things I disagree with Cris Carter About”.
