Madden 10 Update (with Favre) Out Tomorrow
Tomorrow's Madden 10 update from Electronic Arts will put Brett Favre on the Vikings' roster. He will have a rating of 82. Both Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels have ratings of 69 in Madden 10.
Who has two thumbs and now officially has to start his Franchise over? This guy.

I got the game yesterday, but haven't played yet
Is it much different from last year?
I'm also curious about that.
Haven’t bought it yet, but the Favre roster update alone might be enough to justify the purchase.
It's somewhat different
I find it harder to Juke and Tackle..but the overall game play is really really kick ass
yes and no
The gameplay is more or less the same except that the ratings have been stretched so that the actually on the field play is MUCH more true to real life. Instead of the video game football problem of some linebacker with 85 chasing down your 95 speed WR, your WR has 93 speed and the LB now has 72 speed. They also changed the logic parameters so that Accelaration actually has influence now instead of being seemingly meaningless.
They added more QB stats so a guy like Tarvaris cant throw the deep ball as well. QB’s can no longer just throw back across their body as well. More lame duck passes too. With the new ratings too you’ll find that your QB will actually overthrow, underthrow or flat out miss his recievers more often. True to real life.
The running game feels slowed down.
Overall, i like the changes.
The running game feels slowed down
I totally agree, but I think it feels more realistic. It feels more like NCAA gameplay to me than Madden, and I like that A LOT.

Brett Favre proves he is a total piece of garbage.
the game has a "real" feel to it
players move like you would expect them to move in real life… not quick and herky-jerky at the flick of the analog stick like they used to. The Pro-Tak system is AWESOME too. Love seeing those big gang tackles and I also enjoy fighting for the ball at the bottom of a pile during the fumble.
Much more realistic version this year. Most improved version in a LOOOOONG time. (Maybe since the jump from PS to PS2 [Madden 01])

It feels like a completely different game in a good way

Its way better
The tackling is spot on and although the running game takes some getting use to its better as well. Also when the QB releases the ball it doesn’t jump out of his hand, it seems to come off the fingers more making it more realistic.
The price hike sucks though. It’s $69.99 in Canada. With tax $79.09! I almost pucked. I walked out of the first store thinking it was a price goudge and soon realized it was the same everywhere(In Southern Ontario).
Bernard, Percy and AP oh my!
I still can't....
Believe that EA keeps shoving Micro-purchases down people’s throats. This shit is already in the game, they just want you to pay an extra $30 to play everything you already bought for $60. I still haven’t bought it yet, and I’m extremely disgusted about it. I’d like to, but the micro purchases piss me off to no end.

wow! ratings are different
T-Jack was a 77 last year. . .and he def showed he was better last year didn’t he?
and Daunte Culpepper was a 80:
somethings gotta be different cuz JD Booty was better than all three of them after one year of starting in my franchise in 09. . .it’s messed up. . .or just really different.
Changed the rating system. If you are great your rating reflects it. If you are average your rating reflects it. I must say I was annoyed that Madieu Williams was as low as he is. Figured he was more respected than that.
Case of the beet bandit. Missing beets from all over the farm, no footprints. Inside job. Mose in socks. Boom. Case closed. -Dwight Schrute
Injury = bad rating
Madden is notorious for dropping the ratings of guys that missed significant chunks of the previous season. Hence Madieu’s rating.

Thankfully...
I’ve only played two games. I’ll start over with Favre to see how fast he gets injured.
On another note, am I just blind, or did they take out the rating boosting drills before each game? Or where the eff are they at?

Skol Vikings!
Woot Woot!
1st serious injury of his entire career(last season) and now he is injury prone please. Those consecutive starts arent for nothing
The Jets knew Favre was hurt last year, but elected to play him anyway. Clemens isn’t good and neither is anyone else they had at QB. So they rolled the dice and lost.
Mangini could have put someone else in if he wanted to, he is the coach and Brett wasent holding a knife to his throat.
Bernard, Percy and AP oh my!
Madden 10 just got better two fold
I can’t wait to use Favre. T.Jack and Sage are terrible in the game. Forget about throwing on the run with them or being slightly out of position your screwed. Brett will make me unafraid to take on all challengers.
