Favre Should Have Not Ever Come Back
Brett Favre, he's one of the best, if not the best if you look by some of his numbers that he has put up, quarterback of all time. No one can take that away from him. But, what are the Vikings thinking? He's 40, and has had serious screw ups coming down the stretch of the season the past two seasons. Threw a costly interception in the NFC Championship game against the Giants, and last season totally choked the end of the regular season to lose out on a playoff spot for the Jets. Is he going to bring in quite a bit of profit for the Vikings this season? Absolutely. Does Tavaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels deserve to just be slammed to the bench in one day just because his name is "Brett Favre?" No!!! Jackson and Sage have been putting up with all the Favre garbage that has been going on this past off season and they have been going to the two-a-days, the training camps, the workouts and busting their butts to try and earn the starting spot for the Vikings this up coming season. Just because his name is Brett Favre, and he shows up to practice yesterday and he's working out with the first string? I don't care if he's Joe Montana coming out of retirement. You want the starting job on a NFL team? You earn it!! You sign a contract with the team BEFORE training camp so you can get your practice in with the rest of the team. You workout and you go to the two-a-days, you learn the system, you get acquainted with your receivers, running backs, offensive line, and coodinators. The Vikings are going to have a mediocre season this year, and the only way there gonna win games is because of Adrian Peterson, and their defense. They're going to miss the playoffs just barely and it's gonna be because Favre is going to screw it up for them. They're probably going to trade Jackson this season and there goes there future QB. Rosenfels will not play and eventually retire somwhere down the road. And John David Booty? Yeah no need to even go over all the reasons why he won't do this team any good.

The ONLY reason other fans come here now
Is out of fear. Their squad is inferior and will fall like dry leaves.

Two things
1st – I wish I had a nickel for every time someone misspelled and mispronounced Tarvaris Jackson’s name.
2nd – This game is about winning, and clearly the owners and coaching believe that Favre can help us win MORE than we could wind before.

Coaching....
…staff, that’s coaching staff.
and WIN….. that’s win – not wind.
How I wish I could edit this…..

Yeah, but Favre did
Obliterate your Tennessee Titans last year, didn’t he?
SKOL VIKES!

Good Move Brad
well. . .however cowardly in might seem to go get the rival leader. . .and however messed up it is for Brett to get away with not going to all of training camp, it was a good move for Coach Brad. He knew Brett wanted to play and feels he’s a good fit for the Vikings (which he is). . .
Brad wants to win. In the past he’s dealt with the weak QB play by running the “Chester Taylor” up the middle (the draw play) on third and longs. He’s realizing (finally) that a team needs to take action if players aren’t stepping up, and Vikings QB’s haven’t stepped up. I do feel sorry for Sage though, he had a good game last friday

Ever think...
that maybe Brad is feeling the heat from the front office? There are a lot of big name coaches out there to choose from. Cower, Gruden and Shanahan just to name a few.

Exactly!!!
If it works great, we go all the way, everyone’s happy.
If it bombs, the Vikes learn a few things, we get a high draft pick, and Chilly’s looking for a new job.
Win-Win! :)
Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
SKOL!

More people with crystal balls that see into the future
Where is everyone getting these, I want one!
But seriously, Favre did not “choke” at the end of last season…he produced a partially torn tendon in his throwing arm probably due to Mangini’s bad attempt at keeping a old QB fresh for the entire season.

and was
too stubborn to admit his season was over thus costing his team a playoff spot. If he would’ve had the surgery to release the tendon when the pain was too much to bear he probably could’ve came back ready for the playoffs. You see there is no Brett in team. He’s all about himself.

Like someone said before, it’s the coach’s decision about who plays. If you are a true player you’re not going to pull yourself out of a game. Mangini should have made the call about taking favre out, not favre himself.

If you are a true TEAM player...
…and know you are not performing up to your own high standards you do pull yourself to give the TEAM a better chance at winning. It was all about his consecutive starts streak which is a personal record.

I’m sure he was thinking he was doing what was in the team’s best interest. I doubt any of their backups would have done any better.

If T-Jack is the Vikings future......
we’re in trouble. At best he should stay with the Vikings and soak up as much of Favre’s experience as he can. I can’t think of anyone better he could learn from than Brett. Brett won’t be there forever. He should just hang in there, get another year of experience, and soak up as much information as he can from a future Hall of Famer. Not everyone gets that opportunity.

uggh.
Every time I read the title of this post my brain hurts…
Do you talk this way, too?
I for one… am glad that… Farve Have Choosed To Come Back.
GO VIKES! GO FAVRE!!
I believe the 'push off' cost us 'our' SuperBowl...
I believe you 'go for the win'... instead of 'taking a knee'...
