Really?
You’re actually doing to wear that? How is that going to help you forget Favre is our QB?
by Heech on Aug 19, 2009 12:15 PM CDT reply actions 1 recs
Wait, you mean this wasn't an old John David Booty jersey?
Damn, should have looked at the back of it before making the purchase.

Don't Worry Heech
They will all come around when Favre (formerly a QB) stinks up the joint

Heech you are a genius. I don’t know if I agree with you but you are hilarious. As for Favre I’m torn. The Viking in me say at least we’ll be rid of Silly Chilly by years end and the soul seller says "we’re in for a awesome ride." Please someone help me find my way!

I think I'll stick with my AP jersey this year.
That still looks way too weird. Maybe it will look better on the throwback jerseys?

Not Fair
I could not vote because Vikings do not make the playoffs due Favre late game INTs

How soon can we dump the old broken down loser?
This is one of the blackest days in Vikings history. Why we spent ANY amount of money for an over the hill me-first QB with far more interceptions than TDs is completely beyond me.

While I can appreciate your passion...
More interceptions than TDs? I don’t think that’s accurate…

has favre had even a single season where that is true?
(outside that first year in atlanta that is, where he played like 6 snaps).
as far as I know, the only QB on our roster that is true of is Sage

Let me get this straight
We dogged on Moss for taking plays off but it’s ok for Favre to manipulate the Viking coaches, players and fans in order to skip camp? Right there he’s already rubbed me the wrong way. Not to mention he is Favre.

Should’ve let me know you were in the market, I could’ve gotten you a jersey with stitched numbers and letters for probably about $30 less than what you paid for that…

I'm too cheap and I already have two jerseys in my closet with a #4
Randy Moss #84 and Jimmy K #40. I’m thinking of just scratching out the first digit on my old #84 and putting tape across the back with “FAVRE” written in. Anybody else?
by DaRange on Aug 19, 2009 1:18 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
You would deface a Moss jersey to make a Farve one? Save your money or buy a purple shirt and customize it. Don’t be that guy.

Moss – Favre. Same thing. Both are NOT team players.

by Heech on Aug 19, 2009 3:33 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
That poll is ridiculous. We have not won anything yet.
The Vikes are set up to have a great season. It does not garantee they will win anything. Lets not automatically be so arrogent and pretty much say, “now that we have won the division”, before a single regular season game has been played. This is the NFL and the perity in it deserves respect. Are we so arrogent that we do not believe any of the other teams in the division have done anything to improve. If so were pretty stupid. Yes they have as good a shot as any to win the division but Jay Cutler and Aaron Rodgers are no joke. Neither are their coaches.
Can’t crown them yet, even though the Vikes look the best they have in a decade. “Look” not “are”… yet.
Bernard, Percy and AP oh my!

I want to agonize you, Heech, and the other skeptics. ;)
by Anthony21 on Aug 19, 2009 2:51 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Skeptics – Realists. Depends on how you look at it. What I see is a 40 year old washed up Packer legend that has sucked it up the past 4 seasons. What you see is Brett Favre.
by Heech on Aug 19, 2009 3:36 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
I think you overestimate Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels
I’d argue it’s the realists who see that, despite his age, Favre is still head and shoulders above Jackson and Rosenfels in decision-making ability, his ability to read a defense, his ability to make big plays, and his ability to provide the leadership a playoff-caliber team needs.

Funny
that you think Favre is actually going to make the Vikings better. I wouldn’t be suprised if they lose to the Lions twice this year.

It could be worse
We could be one of the teams in this division that didn’t do anything last year, yet think they have the NFC North on lockdown anyway.
Yeah, Chicago, I’m looking at you. You, too, Green Bay.

yeah but it is a new year and anything can happen.
the poll should have at least included a “the Vikings will not make the playoffs.” As unlikely as that may seem. You just can’t tell before the season starts, even though it may look obvious.

NEARLY as many Bear trolls or Packer fans.

Favre in 2008
22 picks, 30 sacks, and 10 fumbles. So basically you can count on 2 turnovers per game from ole #4. One year older and 3 weeks to prepare. Can’t wait to watch this disaster play out. He’s going to love getting thrown around the Dome’s cement, errr turf all year long.
Childress will be the second straight Favre coach to get the boot. #4 is a Coach Killa!

Favre in 2008
If you want to know why we are better off with BF than Sage or TJ, check out this link for their stats last year…http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2008/passing.htm BF is ranked #8 and our dynamic duo are ranked #36 and 37.. And remember, this includes the last 5 games of the year when BF played hurt (let’s see you throw a ball with a torn tendon).. I’m from NY, and let me tell you that for the first 11 games, BF was considered the second coming of Joe Namath. Everyone felt the Jets were going to go deep into the playoffs, until BF got hurt. Then, instead of going more to the running game, knowing that he was hurt, the Jets decided to continue to throw the ball even more. Go figure..but that’s why the coach got fired!!

Hysterical
NFC North has been decided? Just like last year when the Cowboys were dubbed NFC East Champions. The Chargers were shoe-ins and barely squeaked in. The Dolphins were gonna stink but won their division. There is no way a team with a rookie QB could make the play-offs but then two did.
It’s going to be a hard fall from your dillusion to reality…and I hope it hurts.
NFC North Results
1. Bears 11-5
2. Packers 9-7 (miss wildcard)
3. Vikings 8-8
4. Detroit 4-12

Yeah, like the Bears are going 11-5
Dillusion? Are we talking about pickles here or something?
The Bears aren’t going 11-5 with that pathetic defense, especially that useless secondary. And your crybaby, prissy QB still doesn’t have anyone worthwhile to throw the football to.
The Chicago Bears wouldn’t win the Big Ten this year, let alone the NFC North.
