Wow, what a difference a few hours make. Up until monday night, all the fanpost were regarding who would win the starting qb job, now they have turned to which qb would stay, or if one would ask for a trade.
Although i have to admit that I am glad the Vikings signed Brett Favre, I have to wonder how misled. or betrayed Sage Rosenfels, and Tavaris Jackson feel. By the timeline that was given during interviews, it is apparent that Childress called Favre sometime on monday to ask him to captain the ship. The problem I have with that, is that as Childress himself reported, is that he did not meet with his qbs on the roster until tuesday am to inform them of Favre's impending arrival.
I don't know about how anyone else feels, but to me that is very unprofessional, and highly disrespectful. i recently had a situation like that at my place of employment where my supervisor changed my working hours, and when i met, or confronted him about why he wouldn't come and talk to me about it before deciding this his response was "i didn't feel i had to" What a blow to the gut! Childress reminds me of that excact situation. He should have been man enough to sit down with his players and inform them of their plans. NOT have the type of circus we experienced on tuesday.
I couldn't blame Rosenfels, or Jackson if they didn't want to be there anymore. I believe it would be good for them to stay and learn from one of the best qbs to play the game. Especially Jackson.
So far, it promises to be an interesting season. Let's hope it will end with a LONG eluded Superbowl VICTORY!
