Even though I don't know much about the media hating the Vikings like Gonzo may think... but I do know that whoever makes the Madden games does. I just tried playing a game against the Packers... Now I am a Madden vet. I love the game and play each one until its boring because I'm so good. But this fucking game fucks me so hard. Every person that looks at Peterson magically gets a tackle. Anybody I throw the ball to drops it.. It bullshit.

Dude I fucking
hate that. Even in 09, over online play or whatever I would do, the receiver could have complete possession of the ball and somehow just drop it. That’s easily cost me 4 or 5 games.

How about when a defender is behind one of my receivers. They both jump for the ball but it goes through my guys hands. Not through the hole in between his hands. But literally through his hands into the defenders hands.

Talking about "Superstars"...
Anyone else have Marcus McCauley tearing it up in their franchises? I’m playing with the Madden IQ (around 590), and in each of the last two games, McCauley has gotten a pick and taken it to house on the first drive. The last one was against San Fran. I called a dime blitz on 3rd and 6 on their 35 yard line. Smith took the snap and pitched it to Gore. McCauley ran unblocked into the backfield and intercepted the pitch. 35 yards, Touchdown! It doesn’t make sense. Is he even going to make the Vikings this year? And why is Paymah playing cornerback?? Didn’t we sign him for special teams?

I don't have this problem...
I’ve won a bunch of games online. If your receiver is open and the ball gets to him, he catches it usually. I only have a drop or so a game. Peterson doesn’t break every tackle, but he shouldn’t. You have to pound the ball and get the defense playing up. Then toss it to make them play honest.
I play these guys online who use one or two formations. When they get behind, they abandon the run completely, then quit when I’m up by two or three scores. Lame.

and then you have to waste time playing against the computer. They should just give an auto-victory when somebody quits.

That is the thing Madden needs to fix. You should definitely get the auto-victory when your opponent quits.

I remember they did it a few years ago...
Back on the PS2. I remembered being so happy when they did that. I guess somehow people exploited it for easy wins. Gotta hate that 10% of people with the “anything to win” attitude instead of just having fun.

Doesn’t surpise me that people found out how to exploit it. I played a guy last year in 09’ who knew a cheat, that made any player you had in a zone on defense automatically blitz. Imagine how happy I was when I was in prevent, up 4 points and he used it to the score the winning TD.
I was pissed I really wanted to crack the top 100 last year, and the douche that used the cheat against me was 23 at the time. (For those of you have don’t play Madden much, a win for me would have equaled HUGE rankings points.)

I love pounding with Peterson. Anyone else notice that in the fourth quarter he gains about five yards a pop on almost every play? I’m wondering if they incorporated the idea of wearing a defense down?

I’ve played with the Vikes twice online and won both. AP is a beast in the game. Since Favre was added on the game I haven’t had any problems with passing either.
If anyone wants to play on the 360 my tag is packerfan518. (I’m ranked 2,000 something to so better watch out haha.)
if your problem is that guys with 80 speed are tackling AP, then that isn’t because Madden hates the Vikings, it’s because you’re not playing well enough. For this to be a sign of Viking hatred, the Madden programmers would have had to change the actual game engine, how all of the players interact, solely to show disfavor to Minnesota.
If you want to complain about certain players getting unfair ratings, fine. But to suggest the actual gameplay is different with Minnesota is ridiculous.
it actually wouldn’t be that hard from a programming standpoint. not saying they did this but it wouldn’t be that difficult if they wanted to.

Bad development team
After playing EA sports NHL 09 I gave up on Madden. The quality gap between the two games really shows how much of a difference it makes to have a good dev team working on your games. It blows my mind how EA can make a game like NHL 09 in one studio that is soo close to perfection and then totally blow it year after year with Madden. Very frustrating. I used to buy the new version of Madden every year, but I skipped this years version and instead will be buying NHL 10’ GO WILD!

Is a great game. If I didn’t love football so much I probably would have given up Madden as well. Have you played the NHL 10 Demo? Pretty unreal stuff.

Football games, how were they? I like the Madden games, and I think this one is terrific. There are some things that need to get fixed (fumbles, holding penalties on FGs) but there are things to fix in pretty much every sports game. The games keep getting more and more realistic, and I suppose that’s all we can ask for.

ESPN Football was good...
But I always preferred Madden. What I did prefer about ESPN? Twenty dollar price tag. Same with the NHL games back in the day. Fantastic. Go Avalanche!

I didn’t even know the demo was out yet, but I’ll buy NHL 10 even if the demo is very limited (they usually dont give a very good representation since it’s so limited). The Be A Pro mode is supposed to be even better than 09 and that was x1000 better than Madden’s “Superstar” mode. *Sigh. The Superstar mode was actually better in the 06 version on the original Xbox and Playstation 2. Sad…..just sad.

I’m not sure what people are complaining about because this is the best football video game of all-time. Even still at the end of the day the product never compares to the real game because it’s not reality…
