It looks as though the Raiders are trying to accomodate Derrick Burgess by shopping him on the trading market. With the retirement of Udeze and Ray Edwards lackluster season last year and the possibility of losing The Wall for the first four games of the season, do you think it would be logical to put up a trade offer for his services.
Burgess is a two time pro bowler and former league sack leader. He's 30 years old which would put him right in the middle in the age department, and he can be a beast on the field. However, he's had nagging injuries throughout his career and we don't know if that'll continue this season. Also you've got to take into account what Oakland would want in return for him. Also by acquiring him we wouldn't be neccasarily addressing a key need on our team, but only solidifying (stacking) our defensive line.
I my honest opinion I believe if we acquire him, which probably isn't likely, our defense would be one of the most dominant in the league, which it already is, so it would only make us that much better. I would offer up a 4th maybe a 3rd round pick and a player like say Wade or Allison for him, if it was Wade it would have to be a 4th rounder.
