Comment on my Fantasy Draft

This is an 8 team league with 2 starting QBs, 3 WRs, 2 RBs, TE, W/T, W/R.

QBs - Brady. McNabb, Eli Manning, TJack

WRs - Moss, Marshall, Edwards, L. Coles, Hester, Sidney Rice, J. Maclin

RBs - Westbrook, Jacobs, T. Jones, McFadden, J. Lewis, McCoy (Westbrook handcuff)

TEs - Shiancoe, Shockey

K - Longwell

Def - Pittsburgh and Baltimore

How is that not 75 words?  Damn!  First time that's happened to me.  I think my team is pretty stacked!  I really like the Brady/Moss combo and the McNabb/Westbrook combo.  Championship here I come!

Very few things to complain about with that roster {What, no Minnesota D ;)}. What I found more interesting was that your league starts 2 QBs. Can’t say I have heard of that yet.

I was once in a ff league

that was 16 teams and started 2 QBs. I instantly realized that this was RIDICULOUSLY stupid of the commish (What about bye weeks?) so I joined it just to exploit the league. I spent my first 5 picks on QB’s before people realized what I was doing and then hand picked my team through trades. I ended up being stacked and a lot of people just quit halfway through the season because people that didn’t trade with me had terrible QB problems during the bye weeks.

Hilarious stuff!

Minnesota's D

Went 2 picks before I was gonna get them. To a Packer’s fan! (The same Packer fan who picked #1, and picked Turner instead of AD. WTF!) Hahaha

Showing their true colors by taking the Vikings D and brains by not picking AP. ;)

impressive

A- If only you had AD in the backfield. You can never have enough purple!!!!!!!

by kdog69 on Aug 6, 2009 8:02 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Hahaha

My good friend picked 2nd, so he got AD. He is trying to trade him to me, but he really doesn’t have anything else to offer besides AD.
1st pick went to a Packer’s fan. She chose Turner. I told her I’d bet 20 bucks that AD has more fantasy points than Turner this year, which isn’t a bad bet considering Turner had more points last year. She wouldn’t take the bet. haha. Stupid packer fans!

I am always kind of hesitant to pick a WR/QB combination.

If one of them has a bad day, the other will likely have the same problem. So you are putting two of your eggs in the same basket.

by Bjorno on Aug 6, 2009 8:37 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

and if one has a great day

the other usually does too and you destroy your opponent.

Although, I go by your method too Bjorno. :)

Except that combo

Is Tom Brady and Randy Moss. I’m not too worried about it. Lol

You are

in a weird league my friend, but if you were in a normal league i would give you an A+++

LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!

in an 8 team league, you should be stacked. everyone should, even starting 2 qbs. that being said i’ll give you a c+.

a+ in qb’s, te’s, def, k

d in rb’s. you’re rb’s are weak for an 8 team league. westbrook is good but that’s your only every down back. the rest split with someone else and/or aren’t very good.

c in wr’s. i also think you’re lacking in wr’s since you could possibly start up to 5. moss and coles are good, the rest all have huge question marks (ie, is hester really going to benefit from cutler?, is marshall as good without cutler?)

if this were a 10 or 12 team league this same roster would garner a b or an a, but not in an 8 team league. if you don’t put up at least 130 pts a week in an 8 team league you will have a losing season (standard scoring).

D in RBs!? You don’t think Jacobs will be good this year. He put up great numbers last year, and he was splitting carries with Ward who is now gone.

by packallday555 on Aug 8, 2009 3:49 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Bradshaw is still there

And will be on the field for 3rd downs, at least. Jacobs has never shown himself to be a good pass-catcher, and he gets injured frequently enough. The Giants also seem to like this running back by committee approach. Hell, it’s worked for them so far.

Westbrook is getting old and creaky. It’s good that you picked up McCoy as a handcuff.

by virginia viking on Aug 8, 2009 6:12 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Right

But Jacobs gets all the goaline carries, and the Giants are very much a run first team with one of the best o-lines in the game.

In onlly 13 games last year he had 1,089 yards and 15 TDs. If he can stay healthy those numbers, especially the yards should improve a lot.

I agree McCoy was a good pick. Last year when Westbrook when and Buckhalter came in there was really no decline for them, and I would expect the same for McCoy as he looks to fit there offense perfectly.

If Brady and Moss have an 07’ type season though, your not even going to need much from anybody else on your team.

it’s not that i don’t think jacobs will be good this year. it’s only an 8 team league. jacobs will share carries. westbrook is good. jacobs is okay. jones is okay. the rest are fodder. one good back and 2 okay backs in an 8 team league is weak. based on standard scoring, if you don’t get at least 40-50 pts from your 2 rb’s on weekly basis you better be terrific everywhere else. that being said, i don’t think westbrook and jacobs/jones can put up 40-50 a week.

by iseepurplepeople on Aug 11, 2009 2:08 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

good point

It might be difficult for those 3 to amass 40-50 points a week. Probably 30-40 is more realistic for them, but luckily for him the rest of his team should be very good. Brady and Moss will pick up where they left off in 07’, and between Edwards, Marshall, and Hester I think at least one of them will have a good year this year, if not more then 1 of them.

by packallday555 on Aug 11, 2009 5:03 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

you’re wr point is a good one but with 3 starting spots and possibly 2 flex spots he’ll probably need 2 of those three to have good years which is really pushing your luck. which is why i gave a c in wr’s.

fantasy team

after moss you are terribly weak at receiver i’d like to think that rice could be viable but you should trade for something more you are stacked at rb.
