How do you regard Detroit Lions fans?

After the jump, there is a poll.  Feel free to comment about your predictions about tomorrow's game and for the Lions' losing streak and all other appropriate things related to the Lions and Vikings.

In the meantime, I must get to seventy-five words.  Some say that the Lions are cursed after not appreciating Barry Sanders (mostly at the end of his career) for losing so many yards.  For those who don't remember him so well (and for those who do and enjoy watching him again), you may see him run here (I recommend muting the sound, though).

I pity the fools.

I relish every opportunity to give them grief all the way to 0-30 and beyond.

Better them than us. The Vikings would be on a losing streak without AP, after all.

They are definitely loyal to a fault

At least some of them are getting what they deserve for not appreciating Barry Sanders.

Gotta Give Lions Fans Some Credit

If they’re still loyal to their team after so long… They deserve some kudos. Lions fans have had ample opportunities to jump on some other team’s band wagon, and I certainly appreciate their loyalty.

Some day, they’ll see the Lions have some success… These losing ways can’t last forever, right?

Yeah, for those that hang tough with the team especially after all these years, I do congradulate them. Besides, I can remember when people laughed in the 80’s about how bad the Twins stunk. Boy, did that get quiet in ’87. So all it does is take a few right people to get things changed fast. This year, no way, but whose to say what is happening with them 3 years from now.

"That is the craziest sonofabitch I ever saw, how many more like him do you think are up there?"

Agreed

And all of these high draft choices will eventually add up to something we may not want to deal with (like another Barry Sanders, figuratively, since there can be only 1 freak who is exactly like that).

Lions Fans and Barry

I echo previous comments: if Lions fans are still fans, they deserve major props. If the Bears or Packers win the division, I’ll be pissed, b/c I can’t stand those guys or their fans. If the Lions win, I’d at least be happy for them.

Now, I love me my Adrian Peterson, but I don’t think any Running Back will ever have the chipmunk-esque ability to stop and start, and be as elusive, as Barry Sanders. Incredible.

WOW

Not that I had forgotten how awesome Barry Sanders waw, but that video really brought it home. I love AD, bu tin a different way, BS could start and stop better than any RB I have ever seen. It is a shame that the crappy management of the Lions deprived the NFL fan of more awesomeness from Barry. I guess we have to live with the next Jim Brown in AD, not that Im complaining too much :)

Ah yes….the patented Barry Sanders super-juke/Mega stiff arm combo. I think AD exercised that demon back when that Lions safety got triple juked on the goal line. What was that guy’s name again?

We are the vikings.......resistance is futile.

Wow

Watching those videos really impressed me. I don’t think there will ever be anyone who can stop and start like he could. And did anyone else notice that on like every play he had a guy in the backfield he had to juke? The guy is pretty amazing. It’s also crazy that had he not ran backwards so much and only lost an average of 64 yards a season compared to 100+ his career yards per carry would have went from 5.3 to 6.2!

Gotta admit I wish the Pack had a back like AP or Barry. It sure is a lot of fun watching those 2 guys run.
