Possible Vikings-Twins Schedule Conflict Looms
The good news: After their win today, the Twins are now only two games behind Detroit in the AL Central. The bad news: If the season concludes with a tie at the top of the division, a major scheduling conflict could occur between the Twins and Vikings. If the Twins and Tigers need to play a one-game playoff to decide the division and our guys get homefield advantage for the game, the matchup would fall on the same date as the Vikings-Packers MNF showdown. Who gets priority for Dome usage? Depends on which league you ask.

I'm not too worried. Something will change.
But you don’t see this everyday:

No worries...
The Vikings will totally get their MNF showdown! The Twins will just outright win the division, there will be no tie breaker.

I am pretty sure the Vikings lease gives them priority. But as mentioned previously, the twins will win it outright .

I third that motion
No game 163 this year, just the division title!

Interesting.
The Twins will win it without game 163 this year, but it’s interesting to consider. I’d have to imagine the Vikings would get precedent, if only because of National coverage. It would be easier to re-scheduel game 163 for a noon first pitch, and then try and turn the field around. How long does that take?
That or baseball would need to let the Twins play on Tuesday. I just have to believe that because the Vikings have the planned event, they’ll get to keep their schedule.
Baseball Baseball
We are talking about Baseball. I don’t care if the Vikings were the Lions of last year and the twins were in the World Series I would still want to watch the Vikings loose than waste one second on the Twins and whoever

SKOL TWINS!!!
lol Had to go there. But in all honesty, they are either going to have it won or lost by then. I seriously doubt another tie breaker. but if it did happen, talk about a major train wreck of a cluster. That would mean two trips to the Twin Cities if they flip flop the home games…….tho Im not complaining either way.
"That is the craziest sonofabitch I ever saw, how many more like him do you think are up there?"
They'll just lose to the Cardinals in the World Series
so they might as well fold now. :)
Seriously, I kind of hope for the ‘nightmare scenario’ to unfold. Maybe it would bring the Vikings stadium issue to the forefront and be the spark that finally lights the fire for a new Vikes stadium.
I’ve seen two Gopher games on TV in the new TCF Bank Stadium and I am soooooo impressed with the facility, the crowds, and the enthusiasm. It’s great for the school, the Big 10, and Gopher football. Since the Cardinals play two exhibition games at the Twins new stadium, I think I’m going to head up for the games to check it out. I imagine the excitement will be palpable when the new Twins stadium opens.
Imagine he excitement of a new Vikings stadium.
Brett Favre is a Viking, and John Smoltz is a Cardinal. The Cubs and Packers still suck. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
TCF Bank Stadium is even better in person.
Been to both home games, and the atmosphere is outstanding.
Almost makes me want to be a Gopher fan
Almost.

Naw
Been there, done that, Beat them already in the Series, can do it again! hehehehe

I want to see the Vikings playing on a local high school field.
"He didn’t call me or anything. It was an accident, but a lot of people would have called to see how someone is doing after they got hit in the head. Especially if they had to go on the DL." — Morneau on pitcher Ron Villone after an April 2005 beaning.

here's a thought,
I know it’s a simple solution, but how about this? tear down the mall of America, I mean once you’ve seen it " that’s enough", nothing but a little gangster hangout anyway, and put back up a new version of the old met stadium. perfect location half way between both mpls and St Paul ! the highway system is all ready there, I’m just saying !!!!!!
take a kid fishing, it's good for the soul. not only yours, but the child's as well !
tearing down malls
As long as we’re thinking about tearing down malls to build stadiums, how about this for something way out of right field? Tear down Brookdale and all the surrounding empty retail buildings and build another stadium there. There’s already decent infrastructure there and there are acres upon acres of space that is not being used at all.
that's fine,
I don’t really have a preference where, just build the damn thing ! enough said…….

+10, that spot is perfect for a new staium.
Tear down Brookdale, that mall is a waste of space, they already re-did hwy 100 through there, and there’s plenty of room for parking and tailgating….(there’s no bars/restaurants though)
IHOP
There’s an IHOP there…good pancakes to fill the stomach before it’s overtaken by cold beverages!
