Thank God 4 Brett Favre!

I'm sure todays game will be said to be over and over again as the most amazing ending we've ever had, but watching the game winning TD (again) while P.A. commentates made me post this.

Star-divide

Everything happens for a reason. For whatever reason Favre decided he wanted to play for us has me thanking god everytime I think about it! Props to our steller Defense, who once again played mighty fine run D, yet found a way to let score through the air, and Props to our O line for the most part!

The start of the game had the 49ers trying to pressure Favre with biltizes but with an O-line that seemed to be much better today, Favre became... Favre like. Picking apart the D and moving the ball around.

A.P. wasn't completely shut down but at the same time the 49ers did a great job of keeping him caged up. Shaun Hill had a better game then what I thought he would but that just shows you what kind of team we beat today.

Though some may feel it was undeserving or ugly... Hard fought games are won this way. Despite the first, second and third quarter, we're placed at our 20, no time outs and a minute-thirty to go. I would only pick one guy to lead us. Thank god for Brett Favre!

Next monday:

#1) CATCH THE BALL!!! For crying out loud please! Catch it! I don't know the exact drops but Favre's first pick as a Viking was due to a dropped pass.

#2) Get A.P. running wild. It's nice to finally see our vertical game and have witnessed the 40 plus pass day out of the legend but we will win by running the ball. The Packers run-D looked super soft against the Bengals.

#3) We can not give up special team Touchdowns! We just can't. Its a 16-3 lead going into half time if we don't let up that blocked attempt for a TD. We must eliminate those Mental Special Teams mistakes... for good!

#4) Get a ton of pressure on Rodgers. Their O-line is weak this year... very weak.

Early Prediction: Vikings 24 - Packers 17

There he is!

He was the GREATEST QB playing in the Metrodome today for sure!

I hope he turns out to be the GREATEST WEARING PURPLE this year!!

I believe the 'push off' cost us 'our' SuperBowl...
I believe you 'go for the win'... instead of 'taking a knee'...

I love how R4F was right this whole time lol

some were skeptical, some didn’t want it, some did, most probably thought ‘it simply wont happen’ but after yesterday afternoon every vikings fan is a believer!

Go #4, take us to the promise land!

...add #4 to the mix and see what you get... Championship.

Revenge, Your statement about Brett will be correct -

When the Vikes bring home the Lomardi trophy with a 40 year old almost noone had faith in.

great ending

To 9ers fans, great game. If you look at the stats you wouldn’t think it would have come down the wire. The 49ers made enough plays to keep them in it.. The block before halftime was what changed everything. The 49ers got conservative on their last drive why? I’m glad the Vikes stopped them but Hill was putting his passes on the money at the end. I told my friend watching the game with me that they should go for the jugular.
One 1st down and the game is over. So they run the ball 3 times and punt. I hope that if we are in that position sometime this season that we don’t get predictable like that. We have seen it a million times but these coaches don’t get it. The best defense you can have is if your offense can run out the clock . So what if you have a incomplete pass and it stops the clock. If you connect on the next one and keeping the chains moving that will more than make up for it.

Next week

I think the Vikes will win by 4-9 points, even though that wasn’t an option.

As for some of these allegations that nobody cared to have Favre on their roster besides Chilly & Co., the Jets had given up a 1st round pick and ideally wanted him back so that Sanchez could learn from the sidelines for most or all of this year. Favre was nails for them last year until his injury, and I think the Jets would have been a serious SB contender last year had it not been for Favre’s injury.

Things we need to work on...

It was a great game, no doubt about it, and the 49’ers played it tough and down to the wire, kudos to them; the end could have gone either way, very easily.

But let’s start looking at some of those things that need to be worked on….

In comparing the game stats, the Vikings rushed for more yards, passed for more yards, held the defensive line better, than the 49ers… we had more time of possession, and on an individual basis, most of the Vikings outplayed their 49’er counterparts. What the Vikings didn’t do is, is decisively outscore the 49ers, and the win/loss columns don’t care about the nitnoid stats.

We gave up that 10 point differential on the blocked fg (how come OUR special teams doesn’t do stuff like that any more?!?) and that was, I think, the difference-maker. Had that not happened, the score would have been in-line with the actual game-play. What should have a comfortable win was turned into a squeaker for the ages.

Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
SKOL!
