"We don’t care what Keith Brooking says," Williams said. "He was about to get his ass whupped on our sideline over there. It don’t matter. Nobody said anything when they blew out the Eagles [the past two weeks]. It’s the playoffs. It ain’t no regular-season game. If you lose, you go home. We take no pity on them. Do they expect us to? I don’t care about no Brooking. He can say whatever he wants to say."
Pat Williams (via Kevin Seifert) concerning Cowboys LB Keith Brooking, who may or may not still be whining about Minnesota's last touchdown.

OK Brooking put your big pants on and stop it then. You get paid millions of dollars to stop it, shut up and do it!
Skol
Mr Brooking should look to clean up his own backyard before calling out the Vikings.First, Flozell Adams is the most penalized offensive lineman in the NFL since 2007 with 37 penalties accounting for 271 yards.Anyone who has watched flozell play in that timespan can give you a better definition of classless than Brookings crying.Keith be the veteran leader the cowboys hired you to be and police your own team. Not all NFL fans make the 75000 $ that Adams paid in fines this year for dirty play.TO may be gone but Americas team has found another reason to blame their own ineptitude on.

What a great quote from Williams. I hate Keith Brooking so very much. And my white-hot hatred of the Dallas Cowboys knows no bounds. It is like a tiny sun of hate, burning within my soul. Awesome job by the Vikings today.

theres a difference between blowing out someone and running up the score
we didnt score in the 4th quarter either of the last 2 games so thats not a good comparison. He’s right we should have stopped them but it still isnt the way the game should be played IMO. Whats the difference between 27-3/30-3 or 34-3? Its making a statement, rubbing salt into wounds. Buts its ok if Favre wants to play that way, things like that tend to come around.

If things come around
the Cowboys never win again or are forced into servitutude by an invading army.
The point was
I was extremely irritated with Buck for sitting in his booth proclaiming the Vikings should have been running so they would run the clock down for one more play. What a moron — why do they have a guy calling games that doesn’t even know the rules (his idiocy about hwo the Vikings had changed their mind about “accepting” the penalty called against them was pretty unbelievable too). The clock would stop at the end of the play anyway if they don’t convert fourth down. So … what’s wrong with going with your best chance to convert?
Congratulations again on a good win.
You guys outplayed us and dominated the game. The way the game ended shouldnt overshadow the incredible way you guys played.

This was not classless
The cowboys were still playing hard, using their timeouts, going for it on fourth down, etc. If the cowboys had just run three times and punted, signaling that they gave up, I’ll almost guarantee that the Vikings wouldn’t have even tried to score again.
I don’t even believe there is such a thing as classless, these guys are getting paid millions of dollars to play and play at a high level, get out there and do your job. When the Vikings wound up on the wrong end of a 41-0 god-stomping at the hands of the giants, I blamed the defense, not the giants being classless. I wouldn’t care if next week New Orleans was still trying to score next week with 30 seconds left on the clock up 56-0, the defense should have played better, that’s all it really boils down to.

This is the NFL
There is no such thing as running up the score. A big college beating up on a little college, or a a big high school team running it up for fun… That’s crappy. But these are all millionaires, these are all guys at the top of their profession. They’re pros. There is no such thing as running up the score in the NFL. Everyone has the same money, everyone has the same pool to recruit from, their guys are as big as your guys. This is where big boys play.

Opinion from a Dallas fan.....
the game was over. Some of us believe in just keep scoring and running up the score till the final second. Some of us believe you shouldn’t show up the team you’re playing. I believe in sportsmanship. Everyone has their own right to their opinions.
If Dallas had done that to the Vikings , everyone would have a different thought about it including William. I know people will say differently , but your kidding yourself and we all know it. Sportsmanship is not what it used to be and that’s a shame.

This S*** does not hold any water..
2007 Cowboys knocked Brett out of a game, they kept pressing the score;
ALL the media reminded us Brett was 0-3 in playoffs vs Cowboys, I remember EVERY game and the ’Boys NEVER let up on him..or tried to keep from scoring. Cowboy fans have a very selective memory on this thing.
Just because Brett has out-lasted the “old” Cowboy teams he lost to changes NOTHING.
Should the Vikes kicked a field-goal? You would have bitched about that, too.
How about attemptining to make a defensive stop? Troy and Buck couldn’t do that for you..

The Cowboys can pass, call timeouts and go for it on 4th down, but the Vikings have to kneel on the ball? It’s not as though Dallas put the reserves in and signalled submission. Your opinion isn’t necessary here. You definately sound like a whiner and you’re going to get called out on it.

Running up the score/Brookings tirade
Let’s see. Last time Vikes were in NFC Champ game in 2001, they got beat 41-0. I don’t recall crying to anyone about running up the score. Secondly, it didn’t seem that Dallas was quitting with their pass rush. They were trying to kill Farve and had every right to as the game was still “on”. Thank you from Kyle Mc, a sensible Cowboy fan. Why not try and run a successful play? Brookings needs to grow up. It was not malicious. It’s called football. If the Cowboys truly thought all hope was lost, why didn’t they just let the clock expire instead of taking 3 timeouts. You just play until time runs out. Stop the whining and man up.
As a Green bay fan (who obviously wanted the Vikings to loose ;)....
.the running up the score complaing is childish and sour grapes. Brooking should be mad at his defense for laying down. Cowboys showed no heart the 2nd half. Green bay got our butts kicked by Minnesota and Arizona all 3 first halfs. But one of the most enjoyable experiences was watching them stay fighting. There is no shame in losing to a better team (damn Vikings ;)…but there is no honor in laying down once you start losing. And then for Brooking to complain about it? Man the F Up.
now THAT
is a comment! very very true. there was no let up in the green bay games. you guys kept at it and made it interesting. for that, they at least get this humble fan’s respect

Cheap shot and sportmanship must be 2 different things.
I have to say
that last play call, and the play calling in the second half of the Giants game really impressed me. part of that is one of the big complaints we have had against Chilly as the coach was his seeming total lack of killer instinct that is normally a common thread amongst top coaches and top teams. when your opponent is down you keep taking it too him. to often in the past we would build a 1st half lead, then get all conservative (more so then in the 1st half that is), and show no desire to bury our opponent. the result of this lack of missing killer instinct was all too often to let our opponents get back into the game. I like seeing chilly go for the throat of our opponents at or near the end of games. that is the Killer Instinct.

Momentum
I don’t need any other reason for the final TD than we are going on the road to play the Saints in New Orleans. Build the momentum any and every way you can Brett. The Vikings have nothing to apologize for.
Thats right
Yours fan paid to see 60 min of football you should have scored 2-3 more times

And i'm all for running up the score
My team had sucked so bad for so long now that they are good they owe it to me and everyone that supports them
I freely admit we have run up the score this year and am proud our offense is capable of doing it

the last team to do that was the Pats
and well we all know how that ended ……

Ok look at it like this
You are in the stands of that brand new cowboys stadium
Your team is winning your having a great game
Your team hasn’t won a playoff game and been to the superbowl in a long time
Everyone has dis-respected your team all week
Its 4th down and on the previous series the opponents were burning time out and trying to score
you have probably spent $700-800 on the whole day what do you want your team to do take a knee or score again

well you won't like my answer but I will tell you anyways
I am ok with not scoring……I guess and my reasoning is I have coached 7-8 peewee kids for 9 years now. I have always believed in not showing up the other team. Awin is a win. Does it make you feel better with a 34-3 score over a 24-3 score? Do you remember the score of the win more? I don’t care if our little Gator team wins by 6 , its about winning and winning with class. Now I know this is the NFL and you will say its totally different. Another is I have played sports most of my life and been on both sides. Personally , I never felt good when we slaughtered a team. I have always rooted for the underdog in sports and in life, so when a team is being beat badly I feel bad for them. I don’t like it and that’s my opinion and answer :)

Life lessons are important for children. If there were a million dollars riding on your Pee-Wee games, you’d be coaching them up on all the best kick in the nuts move you knew.
Some people have integrity no matter the situation
I wouldn’t waver in my belief sorry

Troy Aikman on the air yesterday:
“If you don’t like it, stop it. Keith Brooking was probably out of line for showing his emotions”
it was all emotions and unfortunate
it happened and it should be over now as you have beigger things like a NFC Championship game to look forward too. Bashing Brookings anymore won’t help your team this weekend.

Coming over here claiming he was right...
will not make the Cowboys a better team over the off season either.

Coming over here claiming he was right…
I agree with the thought of the play but not his actions ……can you show me where I stated he was right in going over there and yelling at Farve?

dubious, I owe you an apology for that post.
You never said he was right and I apologize that. It can be difficult to keep track of who said what sometimes. So when I screw that up,which I did. I will admit it.

Good luck on the upcoming games…..I know you all are excited and should be with the team playing so well :)

Yeah, it was running it up, and I loved it
Tough shit, Cowboys fan. Consider 1975 paid in full.
Now shut up and go fishing, and do something about it next season.

The Only thing that will ever help me get over 1975
is another ass-whooping on the Cowboys once every year for 12 (Ace’s Number) seasons. I still wont be over it but I’ll be just a smidge closer to being over it.

I'm okay with that score being settled
It’s cathartic for me, because I think this team is as good as that ‘75 team. I’m eager to see where this goes from here, and I feel that this team has a chance to get over the hump. I felt that way about the ’75 team, and they got robbed.

Rhodes Scholar huh????
What an idiot. Keith Brooking went to GA tech. At least he has some command of the English Language. I mean, he ain’t be caring bout no Brooking anyway right?
I have noticed a new resurgence in Cowboy hating in 2007, which can only mean one thing- We're back.
Apparently, Pat Williams worries about tackling
and Keith Brooking worries about woofing well after he got his ass kicked. Enjoy your off season.

Your boy had a temper tantrum because he quit playing before the game was over.
Now your unhappy and blame the Vikings because your “Rhodes Scholar” (BTW, GA Tech ain’t Oxford either) forgot the game wasn’t over yet. Now you come on The Daily Norseman (who by the way, don’t call the plays for the Vikings) and take out your anger on us by mocking people with Cajun accents. And I suppose you think you’re the classy one, right?

Pat Williams
Never went to college if I remember right, so who gives how he talks
Adrian Peterson...Beast Mode
Wikipedia states that Pat graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in 1995

Funny quote
I knew as soon as I was reading it that it came from big old Pat, funny guy.

Different take on it
THis may sound crazy, but hear me out. I believe the structure of the final two drives implied Childress was trying to NOT run up the score. If they wanted to run up the score, would they really have just run up the gut 3 times and throw a prayer to the EZ on 4th down, twice? At the time, I just couldn’t figure out what the coaches were trying to do. It made little sense. If they want the TD fine, why waste the 1st 3 downs? The 2nd (last) set downs went exactly the same way. The coach didn’t want to pile on the FGs. The stall worked out the 1st time, burned the Cowboys TOs and some clock, not so much the 2nd time when Shiancoe made a crazy flying grab. Its just my theory, but it makes the most sense of the play calls.
Either way...
It doesn’t matter to me if Brad Childress ran up the score or not. If he did it was one way of shooting back at the national media as he had every right to do so.
Let us now focus on the Saints. . . Go Vikes!!!
Man
The more I learn about Keith “Crybaby” Brooking, and what he’s done in the past, the more I wish we really had tried to humiliate him!
What a hypocritical tool!
running up the score
if I remember didn’t the Steelers scor 14 points against us in a couple of minutes in our loss to them.
