Comparing AD/CT vs the three headed hydra from the Saints.

We have heard about this AD guy somem of us think he's pretty good others, well others think he's past his prime, gained to much weight, slowed down, needs Kim Kardassian to help him play better etc..

Now lets see what happens when we compare him to the beast that is NO running game. Their running game consists of Pierre Thomas, Mike bell, and Reggie Bush these three backs are #24. 32, and 48 respectively but they also share the load.

Now to the stats which I mainly gleaned from NFL.com First this is not good for us. New Orleans does run better than the Vikings wether they can do it on Sunday against our Defense I can't say but in the past they have proven that they can run the ball. Now their best is Pierre Thomas, he's their break out guy while Mike Bell looks to be more of the short down man and Bush is the reciever in teh bunch with some small contribution to the running game.

First they average more yards per carry than we do they come in at a solid 4.9 out of all three of their backs (this is averaged but not weighted and would be lower as Bell's average is 3.8 and he has the majority of the runs for the team) but it would still be higher than the AD/CT combo platter which pulls in at a humble 4 (this would be more like 4.1 if it was weighted) They also run about 3 more run plays a game than we do and have run about 110 yards over our duo. Adding on to the bad news we tend to fumble more than they do at eight on us and only 5 working to them. On the good side of the coin we have scored three more TD's and have much better chance at breaking a long run of 40 or more yards.

All in all it looks tough for us on the run game, nothing insurmountable but definitely something to look at. The good news is while minnesota's run D is #2 in the league New Orleans is a measly #21. This should go a long way in helping our run catch up and probably surpass theirs.
