Hey Viking fans! Sorry about your loss, it was a tough one. At least you guys put on a good game. I've seen those games happen to Green Bay plenty of times, so I'm not here to bash you whatsoever.
I'm here to get a first hand look in what your team will possibly look to do before next season. I will be asking this at our other NFC North rivals as well. Are there any rumors going around your team? Any key players that plan on retirement? If there are no rumors at the moment, what are you hoping your team does to improve?
Here in Green Bay, we have a long list of Free Agents. Most will leave to Free Agency, but we will definately work to resign a couple. There is still no word on resigning Safety Nick Collins. He is one of the best safeties in the game, so we are getting a little nervous about him. We just signed ILB Brandon Chillar to a big deal. S Atari Bigby is our hard hitting SS, and he will also be a Free Agent. I expect GB to resign him at a fairly low deal. If he stays, we can keep our hard hitter. He's not great though, as he's not the best in coverage. Nobody knows what's going on with Aaron Kampmann. Once he tore his ACL, we were all leaning on the assumption we would slap the Franchise Tag on him in the offseason, then trade him for perhaps a 2nd Round pick. Lord knows if he ends up in Minnesota will shoot ourselves! However, about a week ago Kampmann said he wants to resign with GB. It was a long transition for him, but he was really coming along with our 3-4 scheme just before he got injured. With that said, I'm thinking GB will make an offer to him to keep Kampmann here in GB for the remainder of his career. There are only a couple trade rumors swirling through Green Bay right now, one which is highly unlikely, while the other is a possibility. The unlikely trade rumor is Green Bay will make a move for Miami OLB Joey Porter. If that happens, its obvious we won't resign Aaron Kampmann. I don't think this will happen considering Porter's age. The other trade scenario is with San Diego: ILB AJ Hawk and a 2nd Round draft pick to SD for CB Antonio Cromartie and a 3rd Round draft pick. I think that's a straight up fair trade and am hoping it comes true.
With all that said, what is your team looking to do in the offseason? Anyone retiring? Any rumors? Any insider information?
