Kurt Warner announced his retirement
Well, Kurt Warner just announced his retirement at 2:00pm, today. As we know Kurt has had a very
colorful career (including super bowl victories). We wish him well in his retirement.
Which brings us to our man, the legendary Brett Favre. What will he do? I think I do not need to
elaborate on how important he is to the future of the Vikings and their chance at not only get to but also win
Super Bowl 45 (when you say it, it rolls off the tounge. When the did the Vikings win? Super Bowl 45!).
Not to say that without him the Vikings would not have a chance in several years..(well, I guess that IS what I am saying), but Favre is the last hope (at least for a few years) that the Vikings have at making the 50th Anniversary special and winning Super Bowl 45. I would like to encourage everyone (especially Viking fans) to go to Favre's website and encourage him. The address is: www.officialbrettfavre.com
(The fan support, encouragement, and respect from the Vikings fans is already so overwhelming that people that know and love Brett Favre are tempted to become Vikings fans)
(PS. you need to register if you want post and read posts)
I personally think that if Brett Favre can physically and mentally give us one more year, he should before he
really is too old. Then he won't have to wonder "what if?"
I realize that what we are asking is unreasonable. We are asking a 40 year old legendary quaterback, who already
has stats that will never be eaqualled or bested in the next millenium, to come back and play for one more year. In the 2010 season Brett will be 41. I would personally think we are nuts if it was anybody else. But I believe (4 ever young) Brett Favre is not just anybody and he could do it.
That's all I have to say. And now my fellow Viking fans........we wait and hope.
That's all we can do.
SKOL VIKINGS!!!!!

I thought Warner would give it one more try
after all, “the pieces are in place” for Cardinals as well. They got a pretty good football team, and they play in a weak division. The Cards are practically a shoe-in for next years PO’s.
I sure hope Favre doesn’t have any crazy thoughts like that…lol
Hmmm just tried to go the url .....not allowing from here....
Is it my system, my connection, or bad url? Any advice would be appreciated…..Danke or Shukran!

Please, let's just respect whatever Favre decides
He’s earned the right to retire if he wants. Of course we want him back, but he has earned the right to do as he wants.
Absolutely Respect his Wishes
But the man’s accustomed to be totally scapegoated by the people who are supposed to be his fans. Even if he decides to retire, I think it would be good for him to know that most Vikings fans appreciated the year we had with him, and would love to have him back for another.
Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!

Fans would give that to him
after he stayed retired with no rumours of returning, say, in October or November.
It's not that I don't respect his wishes
Wait, would that mean that you are criticizing Childress for begging Favre out of retirement in the last offseason?
If we’ve learned anything about Favre’s retirement decisions, it’s to take them with a grain of salt either way. If Favre gets a bunch of petitions and coaches trying to save their jobs asking him to come back for another year, then it is his fault for waffling so many times over so many years before.
I also thought that Warner would stick around for at least 1 more year.
Interesting stat: In terms of passing yardage, Kurt Warner owns the top 3 performances in Super Bowl history.
I know some do not consider him a HoFer since he got a late start to his career, sort of disappeared for a bit, then turned a backup role into a Super Bowl starter role in AZ, had HoF talent around him (Marshall Faulk, Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, Larry Fitzgerald…) and “wasn’t enough of a winner.” I disagree, though. Warner was better than several HoF QBs (Archie Manning, just to name 1). Other HoF QBs had HoF talent around them (Bradshaw) and didn’t come close to putting up the sort of numbers that Warner did (Aikman). Warner would have 2 SB rings had his D only been able to come up with 1 more stop last year, so the loser argument is absolutely terrible in my humble opinion.
Maybe he just retired to get out of AZ so he could change his mind a few times and play for the Vikings? That would be awesome, although I seriously doubt it will happen.
