Harvin Rookie of the Year!

Our beloved Purple just received some more hardware;

Vikes’ Harvin named Offensive Rookie of Year

Yes folks the Percy Harvin, the one we were all worried about when we drafted him. The one we said ( well me and a few others here ) that, "he is a risk, the kid doesn't use his head, he is injury prone...etc. Well since he showed up to Winterpark all we have had to talk about is his talent, his toughness, and his heart. I have eaten my words and I give Chilly all the credit for flying out there to meet with his family and him face to face. He truly has proven himself on and off the field and the best thing about that is he is only going to get better!

Now it's playoff time and I can hardly wait to see how he performs as our mighty Vikings begin the voyage to Superbowl glory! Skol Vikings!

PHMF will be jumping for joy!

Way to go Percy!

Big Congrats to Harvin!

We knew he was golden, it’s nice to see the NFL acknowledge it too :)

Pro Bowl and Rookie of the Year! That’s going to be a hard act to follow, but if anyone can do it, Percy Harvin can.

Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
SKOL!

Nice

Have to congratulate him and the Vikings for three great years of using their 1st round picks:

2007- Adrian Peterson – Rookie of the Year and Pro Bowl
2008-Traded for Jared Allen – Beast! and Pro Bowl
2009- Percy Harvin – Rookie of the Year and Pro Bowl

Not bad if I must say so myself. What other team has a history like that over the last three years? 3 Pro Bowlers and 2 Rookie of the Years?

When Michael Oher was still on the board

I thought they were crazy not to take him. “We need a good tackle that can start from day one!!!”, I thought. I lamented passing on Oher, but as soon as Phil Loadholt, another tackle I liked, was snagged in round 2, I suddenly LOVED the Harvin pick. Oher has obviously proven to be a great tackle who will protect Flacco’s blindside for years to come, but the Harvin, Loadholt combo could prove to be one of the best 1st/2nd round combos in our team’s draft history!!

Congrats to Percy and may we see more of his highlight reel skills in the playoffs!!

And that says a lot about that draft

Considering we took AP and Sidney 1st and 2nd in 07!

"We have a right to be proud, for in our veins flows the blood of many brave races who fought as the lion fights for lordship. Here, in the whirlpool of European races, the Ugric tribe bore down from Iceland the fighting spirit which Thor and Odin gave them, which their Berserkers displayed to such fell intent on the seaboards of Europe, ay, and of Asia and Africa too, till the peoples thought that the werewolves themselves had come."

Just another example of the Vikings front office

making a great decision.

Purple Jesus, great observation. Not often does a team get 3 game changing players via the NFL Draft for three consecutive years. Let’s not forget we picked up Greenway in the 17th slot the year before.

Add

giving the office credit for listening to Chilly about the Silver Fox to the list. Impressive how many of the offices’moves have paid off big.

I also questioned the Harvin Pick

I though they had screwed up the draft until Loadholt was still available. Even then I was skeptical. Turns out the picks were brilliant, kudos to the Viking’s staff and Congratulations Percy!

Harvin

has a very bright future indeed. Sorry that Percy Harvin My Fav didn’t get the honor of reporting this. His Harvin vid was excellent.

I too

was pretty upset when we passed on Oher. I did not feel that picking Harvin was a bad pick. I just felt our need was on the O-line. Loadholt has pleasantly surprised me and what else can be said about Percy. Wow, 2 Rookie of the Year winners in 3 years.

Way to go Percy!

You guys are always right on top of the news!

I’ll create a quick front page post about this, but I’ll give credit to nmvikesfan for being the first to break the news here.

He won by such a huge margin its obscene

41 votes. Runner up was Michael Oher (Ravens/“Blind Side”) with 6, then three others with one apiece.

In other news, Brett Favre ties for 4th in “Comeback Player of the Year Award” (won by Brady). Kinda amusing that a guy who has not missed a single game in eighteen years gets votes for that!

Ha.

That is pretty funny.

I was going to post this but

I did not want to steal PMHF’s thunder.
Great job Percy

it is better to be thought of as dumb then to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
