Seriously. This is looking like the Pack vs Washington game yesterday except it is the Jets that allowed us to stick around too long. Hope it has the same type of ending.
Honestly though, huge props to the defense. We shouldn’t even be in this but the kept it manageable.

It's old news, but
Brad Childress is the worst coach in the NFL and has been since he replaced Mike Tice. There are ten other coaches in the league and one in the booth calling this game that could have won the Super Bowl with last year’s team and would be able to get this team back there too. If we fire him this week, we might have a chance to make the playoffs.

QB play didn't really do much for the Jets.
We did give up 20 defensive points though, which is still the most all year.

from what I am seeing. The first half of this game was extended practice for this new group. The second half is the beginning…….
We needed that 2nd half the WHOLE game.
But that is the issue each game this year. We don’t have any offense until it’s just too late.

I don't know about a division lead....
… but if you win those three games, you’re probably in the playoffs. It’s only gonna take 9 wins to get a wild card in the NFC this year. 1-3 hurts, but 8-4 the rest of the way is doable. You’ve played the tougher stretch of your schedule, the Packers haven’t.
And the Bears, well, it’s possible they’ve got one of those charmed seasons going that you see sometimes, but that’s a deeply flawed team.
You should be buried at 1-3, but you’re not. Not this year. As long as you stay healthy and the off field stuff stays off field, it ain’t over.

They couldn’t tell us enough last night how great Sanchez was. At one point he was like 10-22 or something like that and they’re talking about him like he’s breaking NFL records left and right. Favre threw his 500th TD last night and also passed 70,000 yards for his career and all they could do was talk about how great Sanchez was. Give me a break. Could Jon Gruden get Laryngitis or something?

Well, at least some explosiveness came back to the offense, against a very good defense on the road, to boot. So close on that last Harvin play (seems like he was just missing Harvin all game). But maybe it’s just not their year.
Jets are a nice team. I thought they got a little too idiotic with all the blitzes (which led to two TDs), but that’s who they are. If I’m a Jets fan, I’m hopeful Holmes becomes the #1, because Braylon Edwards is pretty bad.

Not really interested in a shoe size contest, here. I don’t care about Braylon Edwards vs. Minny’s wideouts. I’m suggesting Jets fans may want their #1 wideout to be able to catch better than 50% of his targets consistently. Edwards has been in the league a log time, but he’s still really limited. Holmes is better.
Hard to blame Harvin alone
Though that pass could’ve changed the outcome of the game, the bigger issue was the utter lack of offensive production in the first half. They were just FLAT. Seemed like they were waiting for one spark, and then turned it on afterwards.

Good Game
If Favre stays healthy and out of trouble this team has an easy Wild Card bid. The division? Well I think it depends on how stupid Martz is. If he refuses to use Forte then the Bears could be in for an “interesting” (read 20 picks) season.
To those that say Favre had a good game

No one has a good game when they throw the ball 34 times and only complete 14…especially when they fumble twice. I don’t care if he had 3 TDs they were all too little too late.
Neither QB
Had a stellar game. But if you were listening to the announcers it was all about how calm and poised Sanchez was, comparing him to a veteran, when in fact he was not having a real great game himself.
Favre did enough in the 1st half to kill us, but thanks to our defense (although I’d call their play less than outstanding), we were still in the game. He also did enough in the 2nd half to give us the opportunity to win.
I’m not being a Favre apologist here, but does anyone else here see Jackson playing any better than that in those conditions? We all know that Jackson folds under the blitz and the Jets were bringing it all night long.
