Sprint Game Ball Poll - Cowboys Edition

Alrighty, folks. . .I'm going to get the Game Ball poll started early here so that more voting can take place and that sort of thing. For today's 24-21 victory over the Cowboys, we have a trio of candidates for the Sprint Game Ball this week.

Percy Harvin - For the second straight week, the Vikings needed a kick in the pants to get going. . .and, for the second straight week, Harvin provided it. After what could generously be termed as a lackluster first half of football for Minnesota, Harvin managed to notch the third kickoff return touchdown of his career to tie the game at 14 a mere 12 seconds into the third quarter of play. Harvin was all over the place this afternoon, catching three passes for 21 yards and carrying it twice for 18 more in addition to his kickoff return exploits.

E.J. Henderson - Seriously, can we just go ahead and engrave this man's name on the Comeback Player of the Year trophy now and save everyone a lot of problems down the track? Henderson's two interceptions led directly to 10 of the Vikings' 24 points on the afternoon, including the one that set up the game-winning field goal where he faked Tony Romo out of his jock with a pre-snap blitz look. He also chipped in with four solo tackles and five assists on the afternoon, and was part of a Viking defense that, largely, held their own this afternoon.

Chris Kluwe - The punter? The hell you say? Yes, really. . .in a game where the Vikings' offense once again had its struggles, our friend Warcraft did a fine job of keeping the Cowboys' offense at bay. Two of his best efforts came in the second half, when the Vikings needed it most.  His first effort pinned the Cowboys at the 4. . .and the subsequent three-and-out from Dallas led to the Adrian Peterson touchdown that put the Vikings up 21-14. . .and his final punt, which was fielded by the Cowboys' Dez Bryant inside the five, was just a mortar shot when the Vikings needed to put as much distance as possible between the Cowboys and the goal line.

So, those are your three candidates, folks. . .who do you think deserves this week's Sprint Game Ball of the Week? Polls will remain open until midnight on Wednesday, at which time the winner will be declared.

how could i not vote for warcraft

there is also something to be said again for greenway. This year all three LB’s are showing why they are the best squad in the nfl.

My friend played Warcraft with Kluwe

Not even kidding. Chris told the guy to draft AP in fantasy football his rookie year too.

My vote was for EJ, he is quarterbacking one solid defense, plus it’s nice to see him get some recognition.

this one is tough....

all three made big plays…….even kluwe with that beautiful punt that he dropped inside the 5 in the 4th quarter and him getting in the way on the punt return that coulda been a house call. but i had to vote for ej. everyone expects at least one big play from harvin and the punter to….well….punt well. but two picks from your linebacker is HUGE.

Good things come to those who keep fighting

Voted For E.J.

I agree that it’s a tough choice but E.J. played like a monster out there today and if not for his two interceptions, the Vikes probably don’t win.

No probably about it

But then our O was doing so badly that the Harvin TD was huge in itself. To come back and put points on the board like that was just sweet to behold. Better, was the fact that the Dallas Cowboy fan I had over to watch the game was crowing about how we wouldn’t be able to drive down on the Boys after the kick off no matter how good the return was… Needless to say we didn’t have to…

It's a lot easier to love the Vikings when they win...

I voted for EJ...

… I will say, Kluwe had one of the best games I’ve seen him play. Usually I’m cursing him out.

He still isn’t that great at dropping it around the 10, seems to be inside 20 is the best you can hope for.

EJ

Two ginormous picks when we needed them most. Although all three guys came up huge in their own right, Henderson may have saved the season.

EJ...

But great to have all 3 of these choices in a single game, no matter who you think deserves it.

I BELIEVE...

Kluwe

Ej’s picks were big, and Percy Harvin’s return was GIANT, but Kluwe gets my vote. He flat out has played incredible ALL year. He deserves to get the game ball sometime, his position just isn’t as flashy as a LB or Wideout/Kick returner. He won the game for us! He literally inserted the dagger, and that was an impossible punt!

Skol!

Tough company this week

but Winfield was all OVER the cowboys.

EJ's got his mojo back

He’s flying all over the field making plays. At his best, EJ Henderson can dominate a game almost like Junior Seau.

Still, at the moment the guy that’s putting points up when the team needs them most is Percy Harvin. Is he finally over his migraine problems? I hope so.
