Ray Edwards Fined $20K For...Something
So Ray Edwards just got fined again. This time it was for "spearing" Marion Barber in last week's game against the Cowboys. Since I have no recollection of what play they're even talking about, I'm going to go ahead and assume that this is yet another case of the NFL grossly overreacting to hard hitting in their sport. Which is based on hard hitting. Ridiculous.

It sounds like Berrian also got $5,000. According to @JuddZulgad:
Bernard Berrian was fined $5,000 for unnecessary roughness after he unnecessarily struck his opponent late last Sunday, according to NFL.
When are they going to change it to the NFFL—National Flag Football League?!

Oh my goodness!
I saw that hit and it was such a flop by the Cowboy defender! But oh I forgot did Berrian lead the shove with his helmet or shoulder or forearm? That’s not allowed anymore I guess

COME ON!
this is getting out of control. Tomorrow you will see,“Jared Allen was fined for $250,000 today because he stepped on the foot of the opposing player”.
Why is everyone upset over a "spearing fine"
Spearing has been illegal in the NFL for years. He did it. He got fined. Happens every week.
Their are almost 2,000 hits each week in the NFL. Non-legal hits are reviewed and fines are allotted. If you really don’t want this to occur then you have no right to complain when your player is the recipient of an illegal hit.
