Childress "Leaning" Towards Starting Tarvaris Jackson On Sunday
Those are the reports coming from Minneapolis, anyway. We'll probably have a greater idea of what Brett Favre's status really is when the final injury reports are released today.

Have to Quote Eric J Thompson on this one

WR, CB, K & P of the Minnesota Machine
LOL!
Those little sayings he would say all the time just killed me.

Well...
This will be interesting…. Childress must not be too impressed with Favre’s mobility and health.
Would this put TJ as a starter and Favre as a potential back-up?
I couldn’t imagine Favre being concerned about his iron-man streak with how he possibly debated about not returning this year. However, it does put a little asterisk in a season that he missed a game or two, or however long he sits…
This is still up in the air… In my mind…
The Source is wrong!
Favre is starting!
Brett Favre is the Greatest QB in NFL History, Bar None!
Brett Favre will be back in 2010, Guaranteed!
Brett Favre will lead the Vikings to a Victory in Super Bowl XLV, Guaranteed!
Brett Favre in 2011 is inevitable!
Starting, maybe
To keep that streak alive. But the entire game? I’m not so sure
WR, CB, K & P of the Minnesota Machine
I wouldn't be surprised..
Nothing is set in stone….
Could be a feeler to motivate Favre?
And the report is based upon speculation… Any quotes from Chilly?
I bet you.....
Wished that Favre had been sexting you instead of Jenn…….

umm ok explain please
if T- jack starts, who will be our back up ….Joe Webb? …would Favre will be inactive??? how exactly would this go down? ….. also if we do have T-Jack starting, I am so looking forward to his wildly accurate throwing style on the field….
Don't know if he's that "wildly inaccurate"
After all, his career completion percentage is right around what Favre has given us this year. And he’s never had Percy Harvin or Randy Moss to work with.
I don’t think that starting Jackson would be as big a disaster as some people think.

ok i guess i am nervous about the lack of playing time for T-Jack :0)
the last time he was in an “actual” game that kinda counted was during the preseason….. i expect nerves and incomplete throws for maybe the 1st 2 drives….and then things will settle, i guess
Well
From what I understand, T-Jack plays his best when the pressure is not on him. I’m not talking the pressure from the pass rush, I am talking about the pressure where he feels he is the key player of an offense where he fears mistakes…
He does exceptionally well when the game is not on the line.. But I also think he has come a long way from that.
In regards to that, too bad this wasn’t the Cardinals game, and next week was the Pats game.. The situation would fit perfectly in regards to who we’re playing.
However, I am pretty sure a lot of fans would be disappointed to not see Favre play.
But who knows.. Favre could still find a way to make his way to starting.
I find it difficult to believe
that a coach who has let Favre pretty much do what he wants from the moment he arrived in Minnesota will have the stones to sit Favre against his will on Sunday.
Chilly talks a good game, but if Favre wants to play, Favre’s gonna play. He allegedly wanted to pull him a couple of times last year and Favre essentially refused.
If he lets Favre start Sunday, and then pulls him? Viking Armageddon, regardless of whether or not the Vikes win..

Could happen if he fails to...
Start him as well.. An outlash? Depends on how well Favre feels about playing…
Than the concerns come as follows:
Does he play a role as a back-up?
Is he 3rd string emergency back-up?
Does he even dress?
How does this all go down?
Half of our team is with Favre.
Chilly doesn’t have a say in it. Zygi is going to rule that Favre plays if Favre wants to.
Armageddon has already started
The locker room is already divided. And not about Favre or Jackson but for / against Childress. I think he lost a lot more players from his favor this year.
I don’t care who you are (HOF or not) if my coach had to go beg you to come play with us. He would have lost a lot of respect from me.
As great a season as last year was it still resulted in 1 more post season win than the year before and we were told that he was brought here to help us in the post season.

Eh, I'll believe it when I see Jackson actually take the field.
Childress can “lean” any direction he wants to, but I don’t think the decision will be his. It will be Favre’s even though it probably shouldn’t be his decision to make. So far, history does not back up the idea that Childress will be able to bench Favre—he couldn’t even get Favre to sit and let Jackson finish up a losing effort last year in Carolina. Again, nice talk, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

i doubt chilly has the stones to bench farve
but seriously…….how can t-jack be that much worse because he’s ‘inaccurate’ with throws sometimes? farve hasnt exactly been the most accurate qb out there this season.
oh, and if chilly does start jackson……farve will only stick around for 2 weeks at the most before his ‘injuries’ are too much for him and he retires. if he didnt want to help mentor rodgers why would he do that now?
Good things come to those who keep fighting
TJ this is the end.
Well maybe not the end, but it will be interesting to see how this pans out. In all of TJ’s playing time he’s cobled together what a 57% passing accuracy? A 77 QB rating? Yeah it’s about the same as Favre’s right now but Favre does bring something to the table that TJ just doesn’t have and that is the ability to read a defense and audible out of a bad call. Favre has another thing as well, the ability to even after this much crap in the season to lead the team to a come from behind win. I don’t think TJ is going to allow us to do either. Now on the flip side TJ brings things that Favre just doesn’t have, his ability to run around in the pocket like his head has been cut off and his highly impressive jump passes.
Seriously, TJ will be much more mobile and as a running QB could give the Pats some fits. Personally though I’m just thinking Chilly is doing this in a bit of one upsmanship with Hoodie to confuse his defensive schemes until the game starts. Honestly it would be interesting to see a poll on who the people at DN would like to start.
Wow I might even write that one…
It's a lot easier to love the Vikings when they win...
Um, as to the poll
Scroll down the main page to the ‘TJ should start’ story. I attached a poll, and last I checked, it’s 80-20 in favor of TJ.

What we need to do is..
Have T-Jack & Favre go through a leg swap procedure.
Bam, problem solved!
Favre's Mobility To Be Tested By Coaches Today
Supposedly the decision to start Jackson or Favre will be based on how much ability Favre shows to move in the pocket today.
If the condition of Favre’s ankle is the only criteria, then it is the right way to make this decision…but of course there are other factors at play: Favre’s ego vs. Chilly’s ego, to name two large intangibles here.

Weird
So Childress gets fined $35,000 for his comments to the media about officiating…
The Vikings play the Pats this coming weekend..
And Moss gets fined $25,000 for avoiding the media.
Link: http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2010/10/29/randy-moss-fined-25000-for-giving-silent-treatment-to-media/
how is it possible to get fined for not addressing the media?
- I am confused *
Seems that people like Moss & Childress can’t win w/ the situation at hand..
A total screwed if you do, screwed if you don’t scenario.
Similar to Chilldresses position w/ the QB issue of go T-Jack or Favre.

Can’t get the calls on the field right. . .but fines? We’re all over that!

Every player's contract says that they have to make themselves available to the media for a certain amount of time
Moss could have worked around it by talking to friendly reporters…but apparently he doesn’t give a sh*t about such retarded rules.
