A question to the Daily Norsefolk

So here we are Friday and we're looking at the re-emergence of our golden boy T-Jax.  Yes this very weekend while we watch our Vikings we will have the chance to see this man come back out of obscurity and lead the team to a much needed win against the Patriots.  Now who else looks at that and kind of feels a kick to the stones?

So I’m going to put a poll down (because I love polls) asking us who we think we WANT to play.  Not who we think Childress will end up putting in because honestly making myself think like Childress always makes my day a little less bright.  Sort of like killing puppies.

To put a bit of a spin on this for all of you who have been hiding in cave since the loss of Miami we have a serious issue here.  Favre our one time wunderkind has got many many issues at the moment, tendonitis, busted up ankles and a curious form of color blindness that allows him to see our uniforms on opposing players.  Yep 14 interceptions in 6 games is about as bad as it gets.  He’s 28th on the QB rating and is only beating out such passing stalwarts as Matt Moore and Jimmy Clausen.  However, he does bring something to the game no matter how poorly he plays.  He has a decisive air about him and players still trust him.  He can read defenses and audible out of plays and if the Gods are smiling down on us from their longship he can and has pulled some simply amazing runs out of his backside.

Second choice.  T-Jax.  Here’s a man with a 57% accuracy rating over all of the games he’s played, he has thrown less passes than Favre (while Favre has been a Viking) even though he’s played in more games as a Viking than Favre has.  He has the tendency to panic in the pocket, throw at receivers shoe laces and honestly couldn’t read a defense if Bellicheck himself were yelling their coverage in his ear.  Oh I forgot about the hop pass, which on Sunday if he plays I’m going to drink a shot of tequila every time he does one.  I expect to be blind on Monday.  Now he does give us some things to work with.  First he is very mobile and has the ability to make a lot of yards using his feet.   Second with him as QB I guarantee you the Pats will crowd the box leaving Moss in single coverage until TJ makes them respect him.  Now TJ’s accuracy drops significantly as he throws it down the field so I see issues with that as well.  Honestly the way Favre is playing now TJ might actually be more accurate and he has been good on turning the ball over (except for his first year).  Lastly it might get Brett some down time to rest his elbow get a bit healthier and maybe get him back into playing shape for the latter part of the season.

So hit the polls, are you going to vote republican with Favre or Democrat with Tarvaris?

(oh and I know there's a lot of this on this site already but I was wondering how we all really felt about this.)
