Why do we need a scape goat?

My message to you all is quite simple, its that over the first six games of the season, nobody on the offensive side of the ball has been consistently good. Herrera and Hutch have been amazing in the run game, but they have not been good in pass protection, and not one RB on this team can pick up the blitz. So why do we all blame our 41 year old QB?

Id like to point out a couple things, one of them is the lack of our #1 reciever, Sidney Rice, another is the lack of production by Bernard Berrian, and another is the fact that Harvins value as a reciever is running after the catch and the occasional 30 yard pass down the seam, what i am trying to say is that before the arrival of one Randy Moss, we had no true deep threat, and when you cant stretch the field, teams will blitz you non-stop.

Another big problem with the Vikings is Pass protection and Blitz pickup. Phil Loadholt has been having problems with speed rushers and the center position has been a revolving door, not to mention how badly the always overrated Mckinnie has played. How many times have you seen a Vikings play go like this: Favre in the gun, snap, pocket immediatly collapses as one Olineman is pushed directly into Favres face, Favre tries to sidestep as a free runner immediatly comes in undetected by the Running back and takes his best shot at Favres back. Think about the hit Jim Leonard had on Favre against the Jets, that just bad blitz pickup.

Finally, we have no screen game, the offensive playcalling has been boring and predictable, and the yards after catch have not been there, with Moss coming in, these things were starting to change, and i believe they will change as our schedule gets softer, but assuming Sidney Rice comes back, patience is all we need, this offense will click soon enough, Gerhart is getting good better at picking up blitzers and Moss and Favre are still getting their timing down. Its time for us to show some patience and dignity as a fan base, remember what last year was like and how Favre was our savior.

If Brett Favre leads the Vikings to a win on an injured ankle, then i expect well see an absence of a lot of anti Favre fans on this website, the haters seem to dissappear with a couple W's
