Week Eight Open Thread For Non-Vikings Games
Alright, ladies and gentlemen, this is the last time we'll have a thread like this for a while, in all likelihood, as the Vikings next six games after this week all kick off at noon Central time. . .unless, of course, we end up getting "flexed" into a more visible slot at some point down the track. But there are seven early games today for everyone's viewing and discussing pleasure.
The one that's of primary interest to us, of course, is the Green Bay Packers getting smacked around by the New York Jets. And, if the folks at Gang Green Nation are reading this by any chance, I'll say the same thing to you folks that I said to the folks at the Phinsider prior to Miami's game with the Packers. . .if you're good enough to beat us, you're certainly good enough to beat them.
The other NFC North match-up for this week has the Lions playing host to the Washington Redskins. The Bears have their bye this week and, despite that, Jay Cutler has already been intercepted twice and sacked four times.
Here's the rest of the early schedule for this week in the NFL:
Denver Broncos "at" San Francisco 49ers (with the "at" in quotation marks because this game is actually "at" Wembley Stadium in London, England)
Jacksonville Jaguars at Dallas Cowboys
Miami Dolphins at Cincinnati Bengals
Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs
Carolina Panthers at St. Louis Rams
The late slate includes the Tennessee Titans at the San Diego Chargers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Arizona Cardinals, and the Seattle Seahawks at the Oakland Raiders. Your Sunday night matchup has the Pittsburgh Steelers traveling to New Orleans to take on the Saints, and we'll be getting the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts as the Monday nighter.
But, for now, enjoy the early games, ladies and gentlemen!

It was a pleasant suprize to see Green Bay lose another player for the year . I see them placing at least 2 of 3 PUP guys on that list in the next three weeks . But I also see a few more going down at the Jets . This is our chance to see if they are any good against top non-divisional teams . I see them falling hard . With Rodgers resustaining his concussion . This team loves to ruin careers . Today will be no different .
Detroit gets to be favored for once . They will lose without Calvin at 100% .
Chicago will rest . This is everyones chance to catch up and make this a race to the end .

If this was college ball
That probably would have been a pick! Happened all day to Miami U against Virginia!

Three out of four new street free agents are on the 45 .
1. Wilheim/LB from SD by way of DEN .
2. Green/NT/Jets via waiver wire .
3. Diyal Briggs/LB/BowlingGreen
4.Walden/LB
As all the PUP’s are not activated . Wilheim must have been improperly passed on his physical . And Green is a good pickup for any team .
- Spencer Havner will also resign in a few weeks with a hammie issue . Leading the way for another PUP guy to go to IR .
Yes . Just because they pass the test doesn't mean the visual effects are gone .
He seems to be less patient .

Yeah he did.
But it’s a matter of did his hand reach out far enough to get the first before he did?

I didn't see anything definitive, I don't think they can overturn the call on the field.
Especially after how bad they screwed up last week. I think GB loses this challenge.
Payback
if nothing else… haha

Were they just talking about what a GREAT game plan that McCarthy put together?
They’ve had one good play so far and that was because the Jets defender was clueless…
I kinda just wanna watch the Vikings now...
I’m too anxious, haha

Dallas is going to be the biggest disappointment of this year. Hopefully the Vikings don't
come in second on that list.

Washington, with the ball near midfield and time outs remaining with less than one minute to go before halftime, is trying to score
Does this sound like the opposite approach of a team we know and love?
Jets got unscrewed by Crosby

we will blame the refs for the missed kick as well?
AR changed the play and forgot to tell his LT
How stupid is that

Dude can’t be serious. We officially can’t get any credit! Even when our defense plays amazing.
