Vikings Defeat Redskins, 17-13, To Win Leslie Frazier's Debut

LANDOVER MD - NOVEMBER 28: Adrian Peterson #28 of the Minnesota Vikings celebrates after scoring a touchdown in the first quarter against the Washington Redskins at FedExField November 28 2010 in Landover Maryland. (Photo by Win McNamee/Getty Images)

Whew. . .what a football game, and what a performance for the Minnesota Vikings in Leslie Frazier's head coaching debut.

We'll have more breakdowns of this over the next couple of days. . .for now, I'm just going to settle in with the Red Zone channel, a couple of Mountain Dews, and feel what it's like to feel good about this team again, if only for a little while.

Feel free to use this thread to talk about the game, talk about the late games. . .talk about whatever you want.

Wow. . .what a great job by the Minnesota Vikings this afternoon.

Great win, and a great weekend for Minnesota football

The Floyd of Rosedale is in the Gopher trophy case, and the Vikings won on the road.

Hmm, let's see....

They picked up on a cry-baby QB that the Vikings didn’t want.
They picked up a used, old RB that the Vikings had no use for.

I wonder if any of those things have helped….

Ah, ah,

From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.

Hey, remember when I said

That the Chicago Bears were the best team in the NFC North, and a bunch of whining, pathetic, useless little 12-year olds felt the need to whine that I wasn’t kissing their team’s ass enough?

Yeah. . .the Bears are whooping one of the hottest teams in the league right now.

I'm not saying

I’m just saying is all.

I’m also just saying that the OMG GREATEST TEAM EVER led by the OMG GREATEST QUARTERBACK EVER found a way to piss another close game down their collective legs this afternoon. Guess they didn’t know how to react to playing a team that was actually putting forth an effort.

Well, the “OMG GREATEST QUARTERBACK EVER” did play pretty well today. Good enough to make it a game, and AGAIN the special teams failed him.

Kind of funny that you would refer to him as the “GREATEST QUARTERBACK EVER” too. I feel like I see a guy proclaiming some to be the best ever, and I’m pretty sure he’s not talking about Rodgers. Just saying.

I know that long, long six year career! sarcasm/

We’ll see how his career ends. He’s only played 3 seasons. It took even some of the best 5 or 6 seasons to really get going and to start proving themselves.

how many 4th qtr comebacks does Rodgers have now?
what about Favre?

by solafide on Nov 28, 2010 3:56 PM CST reply actions

Rodgers

Has as many fourth quarter comebacks as I do. And I’ve never taken a snap as an NFL quarterback.

I don’t want to hear how the defense or special teams lost the game, either. . .if that would have been Favre and the Vikings losing the game that way, it would have been us choking.

Only if Favre had chucked a game losing pick.

Hey, they got beat by a very good team today. Shit happens. They can’t run the ball and that makes it hard to beat the best teams and its why they’re probably going to go out early in the playoffs this season, assuming they make it in (and though they wouldn’t if the season ended today, I still think they will).

Nice win

Good to see runs to the LEFT side runs.
Good to see a ROAD WIN.
Good to see a hurt player held out rather than sent in.
Good to see a little more energy.
Good to see some pass rush with the 4.

SKOL VIKINGS

But before we go ga ga.

Thank you redskins for dropping balls and pushing tacklers in the back.
It was the 5-6 Skins.
Rice was MOA. (Hurting?)and
Compare our D to the Bears or the 49’s the way they tackle and tackle the ball and it makes you sad
And we have no QB next year. (Please don’t even think about it 4 just don’t)
The legacy of BC era is that we have no QB. Could of had Cutler, Drew Brees, Vick and others.
I’m enjoying the win and know that LF is playing for the head coaching spot, but any chance of trying out WEB or TJ is shot with LF trying to win the job. Of course if he believes like many that TJ ain’t it and WEB is years away then what the heck.

Nice to win (unless you wanted a high draft pick).

Head Coach Hey Bret what do you want to run. That’s cool.

Congratulations, Leslie Frasier

To me, this guy looks like a pretty good coach. However, I really wish he’d get off the Brett Favre thing and start evaluating T Jack and Joe Webb. The Vikings need to find out if TJ or Webb will be worthy of the QB spot next year, or if they need to spend a first round pick on the best available guy. It’s a really important issue. If TJ or Webb look good enough, then the team can spend its 1st rounder on something else they really need, like a speedy CB that can return punts. Or another wide receiver. Or another offensive tackle.

Since we already know the Vikings won’t make the playoffs, we might as well start looking at the QB situation for next year. On that, I agree with Sir Francis.
