My experience as a fan

I have only been a Vikings fan since last season and so far it has sucked....sort of. I have been watching football on tv every sunday for about 16 years now since I was 9 and could understand what was going on. Since I live in L.A. it was very simple to attach myself to the Rams and the Raiders unfortunately I was not a big fan of them but just watched because they were they home teams. I was a lost soul stuck in the limbo of fandom with out a team to say I have a NEED to watch them because I am emotionally attached. You know what I'm talking about, making sure you don't schedule event that are on or around times a Viking game would be in order to make sure you are able to watch without interruption. Finally one sunday a guy wearing green and yellow with a number four on his jersey showed up in my tube and I became an instant fan. I cheered Green Bay for a long time until I feel they betrayed not only their team, players, but also their fans. Now I do admit that I was a Brett Favre fan first and a Packers second it still hurt to see where the organization was going when Ted Thomson and Mike McArthy arrived. As a fan of I was so pissed at the fact that GB didn't try to acquire Randy Moss back in 2007, instead he went off to the Pats where he had the best TD season a WR in the NFL has ever had and went on to the Superbowl undefeated. I could only imagine what a great team could have been having Jennings on one side, Moss on the other and Driver in the Slot. I move on from the defeat that year and move on from the backstabbing team and follow Brett to the Jets, now there it was awful, I hated Mangini and never really felt like cheering for the team other than just hoping Favre did well and maybe get a ring. I move on from that experience with a sour taste in my mouth, I thought the organization was quite well built with Tannenbaum showing he would get whoever he needed to get to help his team, but Mangini and some of they players were just classless people. Now we move on to the point of the good stuff Favre as a Viking and my beginning as a fan of a pretty awesome team. I watched as this team got better from the help of Favre, not just his play making ability, but also his play adjustments. Favre made some good points to childress last year letting him know that they could not win against good teams with his ridiculously inept offense which Childress seems to think it is perfection bred with invincibility. In my opinion the Vikings were the best team last year and because of some stupid mistakes and plenty of horrible calls/non calls the lost their chance at their title. As horrible as this year has been to watch I think this blog has had it all wrong so far. My problem with this Blog has been how critical everyone seems to be of certain things without even having a clue of what they are talking about. As I pointed out on the middle of my story I felt betrayed by a team and organization that I felt made a horrible move just like everyone (including me) here does when they heard about Moss. I think the biggest mistake this organization did was give Chilly that extension, but since they did I think the Organization has a large share of the blame. Now I don't know why its so hard for people on this blog to use their internet to search for actual news articles and get the correct information about what has happened instead of reading/writing stupid blog stories of how we need to blame one person for everything thats going on and then the next week blame some one else. Childress was right to drop Randy, not for the being a dick to people when they had dinner on friday or because of him being critical of the coaching staff after a loss against the pats, but because Moss quit on the team. You put Moss on a losing team and you get the production that Moss gave out at Oakland. They're articles everywhere talking about how moss not only didn't respect Childress and thought he was an idiot, but that he was planing to be "one and Done." Now from a fan standpoint I was thinking how crazy is it going to be to have Shank, Harvin, Rice, Moss, Favre and AP that is just the best offensive team in the league. Unfortunately Childress has a bad attitude and doesn't know how to approach players, has an inept offensive mindset and can't make adjustments (ask favre, moss or harvin) and Chilly and Bevell can't come up with some decent new plays and looks that will help this offense, instead they run the ball right with Ap until they forget to run the ball again and then run the ball when everyone and their mother knows a run is coming. So Childress was right to get rid of Moss, but not because it was good for the team it was the best he could do without putting in his resignation. This Blog has been quite up on Favre's butt about turnovers and INT, do you guys even watch game tape and do you even know anyone who has played football and has talked to you about routes. As much as this sounds like I'm defending Favre, well lets be honest I am. Favre has had INTs twice from percy not securing the ball at a catch (miami, new england), percy not going to the ball and allowing a defender to jump in front of him even tho that when the ball was the safety was 7 yds behind (GB) percy not finishing his route. There are 4 or 5 INT that are completely on Percy's fault and a couple of others because of tipped balls thats to Berrian. No favre still threw other picks trying to make a play and yeah his fault he failed to make those plays, but to chastise him on your blog because of the TOs is stupid, know what you are talking about before you go out and say that the viking should sit Favre. Like I said it has been a weekly situation with who you blame on the blog and I agree on some and not so much on others, but when you get down to it all falls on the Wilf family. They could have told Childress to pack it up or overturn the Moss decision, they could have just plainly gotten rid of Chilly for Frazier and let Favre and Bevell run the offense.Yet they sat back and did nothing. For a team that was pulling out all of the stops they stopped one too short. I still believe that the Vikings have an awesome team, but the organization has hurt all of us and Chilly is a kid with an ant farm. The only thing that can save us is the fact that Rice is almost back, our schedule is getting easier and the fact the NFC North is wide open still. As for this blog stop blaming someone different every week and stop looking for a hero to come save the day (well season), be subjective and look at the facts and then make an opinion . As for me I will watch just like I watched Favre in 08 see what happens and maybe I'll have some more faith down the road and hopefully this backwards season ends up backwards.
