I'd say this buys Chilly another game.

We have to appreciate winning, whether he was responsible for it or not.

And it buys Favre grace to start until statistical elimination, though I was all for ditching him in favor of TJ after last week.

by cali viking on Nov 7, 2010 3:34 PM CST up reply actions

Not every pick...

he threw was his fault. The second one in the end zone was all McKinnie’s fault. He opened up to the outside and let Porter rush right in without touching him. Favvre got hit RIGHT when he was in the middle of throwing the ball and it was picked. That’s not his fault. The first one he also got hit on, just slightly later. Chuck, TJack is absolutely positively not the answer.

by Bboc6830 on Nov 7, 2010 4:05 PM CST up reply actions

Thoughts.

Its clear Childress is incapable of calling a offensive gameplan. I hope we avoid a situation like last years Redskins where our owner gives all duties to a coordinator, but keeps on our head coach. There is no reason to keep a coach who has zero respect, give Frazier the important game time/clock decisions and let Bevell loose.

by Stay classy, Joe. on Nov 7, 2010 3:27 PM CST reply actions

Vikings go no where with Childress

This is a nice win but it should never have been a close game. I thought for certain that the team had quit but they came back. None of that excuses the poor coaching by Childress and the rest of his coaching staff. The Vikings are a Formula One race car and Chilly and his staff are eighty year old grandmas! Something has to change by next week or it will be another sad Sunday against the Bears like the second game against them last year.

DEFENSE finally came through in the last couple minutes of the 4th & OT

and finally BRETT was the glue, congrats man, you did a heck of a job. you’re our QB till you go down, we’re with you all the way

by killerk968 on Nov 7, 2010 3:45 PM CST reply actions

I think Favre

was a little more than glue. Almost 500 yards of passing is the only thing that kept a win possible.

Congratulations to the Vikings!!!

I didn’t get to see the game, but I saw highlights, and it looks like it was a real thriller!

by MissButterfly on Nov 7, 2010 3:46 PM CST reply actions

Favre seems a lot younger this week …

He’s always open. He catches a lot of balls. He’s un-guardable, no matter how old he is

by WarWolf on Nov 7, 2010 3:46 PM CST reply actions

we won in spite of....

3 turnovers
11 penalties
3-12 third down attempts
1-2 fourth down attempts
giving up the ball at the 1 yrd line TWICE

i think the football gods showed a little mercy today.

in the future there will be no war...there will only be rollerball.

by jethrophet on Nov 7, 2010 3:46 PM CST reply actions

Agreed

If you think about it we shoulda won by at LEAST two TD’s…

Then of course take away their two non-offensive TD’s… oh well, we won :)

I found those two TD’s VERY offensive

you can mail it in at 2-6

but at 3-5, with three games remaining vs bears/pack … a third straight division title is not beyond our grasp

by VikingVigilante on Nov 7, 2010 3:49 PM CST up reply actions

is this enough to save his job?

Again, the team winning in spite of Chilly. Is Percy’s heart in question now Chilly? Did you alientate a portion of the best potential recieving duo in the NFL in Rice and Harvin?
This should not be enough to save his job and unless BF or any player spoke out onhis behalf. That is enough NOT said

is rice

really back next week?

by killerk968 on Nov 7, 2010 3:50 PM CST reply actions

very possible.

according to Zulgad he was looking pretty sharp in pre-game warmups today, he practiced this week, and has to be off the PUP by Nov. 9 …. all signs point to a retrn vs bears

What you just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your entire rambling incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Barrian playing well

getting Mello into the mix. If Chills would have run it that way from the start there would be no need for Moss. Problem was AGAIN, it was a slow start. Was this Favre and BevellProbobly!

NEVER BET AGAINST PURPLE & GOLD!!!!!

Vikings win!!!
Man, for a while there it was touch and go. Favre moved around and even ran! It was a GREAT comeback!! Also, BB looked good! I have to tell you guys, with Sydney Rice coming back next week….we may be late bloomers but I saw the Vikings of last year show up in the latter part of the game! Brett Favre didn’t look like he was ready to apply for AARP benefits, today. He looked GOOD! I hope the momentum keeps moving and the Vikings tear it up next week!! Not sure about the new uniform pants, though. A bit too costume like.

Revenge 4 Favre today!!!

Vikes win!!!

I don't think after seeing post game talk

that Chilly looked real secure. Something is on a slow simmer but near bubbling in the owners head.
Chilly didn’t look or sound real confident in himself. He measured his words and gave every player his praise. Something that was NOT in Favre’s comments.
“Do I disagree with Darrel, Brad and some of the other coaches” then he jumps from answering that with a yes to "it doesn’t matter to me. I just have to go out and be the best player I can be.
Not exactly an overwhelming endorsement. Still leaves me to wonder if there was some message to Wilfe they agreed on. If I am diplomatic -nothing has really changed. If I say Brad led us in all this adversity to a great win – that means something is going on in him to do things different.
Just speculation but, how often do you hear guys protecting their coach from the chop list putting the blame on themselves. Hell, even the Gopher players did that for Brewster. Nothing like that for Chilly.
Feel bad for the guy but he is not head coach material. I am sure a good assistant in some capacity.I wish him well if he goes. Chilly did for themost part clean up the image of the love boat scandle and wanted good people as well as good players. You got to give him some of that. He just does not instill confidence in his players. I may have a soft heart. That is just how I see it.

by CitrusFLViking on Nov 7, 2010 6:46 PM CST up reply actions

Wif has to see it is still "A Tale of Two Halves"

Like Jets, GB and Miami. All that could have been won with a solid 1st half.. Is this Favre scrapping the bread and butter crap?Is Favre’s brilliant effort and excellent post game comments a way of telling Wilf that this was the guys way of winning inspite of Chilly?
He did not ( which is Brett being a pro) throw Chilly under the bus nor did he put Chilly on top of it for the ticker tape parade.
Something to ponder considering what the players have been saying about Chilly
