Help Remove Snow From TCF Bank Stadium. . .And Get Paid!

Yes, the efforts to find folks to help clear snow from TCF Bank Stadium have gotten underway, and the Vikings are apparently attempting to recruit people via the most reliable means possible. . .by offering them cold, hard cash.

The team has released a statement asking for folks to come out and help with the snow removal efforts to get the stadium ready for Monday night's game between the Vikings and the Bears. Here are the particulars.

Snow removal in the stands will be the focus. No shovels are needed. Dress for the elements. Free parking will be available in the Gold Lot between 5th and 23rd. Report for work at the Jackson County 247 entrance.

Below are the available shifts. Call 952-473-3722 if you are willing / able to help.

Note: Once the project is completed the shifts will end – potentially before Sunday.

7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – THURSDAY, DEC. 16 - $10 per hour
1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – THURSDAY, DEC. 16 - $10 per hour
7:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. – THURSDAY, DEC. 16 - $13 per hour
1:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m. – THURSDAY, DEC. 16 - $15 per hour

7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – FRIDAY, DEC. 17 - $10 per hour
1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – FRIDAY, DEC. 17 - $10 per hour

32nd in the league in revenue for 3 years, and probably again this year

So probably not as much as you would think. They don’t get any money for parking, which many stadiums do, no club seats, limited number of boxes. And taking $700,000 off the top doesn’t help that either.

I'm going off of the assumption

That the 1am to 7am shift is going to be pretty cold! – Hence the pay-raise (and also with it being overnight). But straigh up cash isn’t too bad.

It would be good for the unemployed for some quick cash… I wonder if some of them are doing double-shifts?

Look at it this way too. If you want to work off some of that Holiday weight, 1 or 2 shifts AND get paid for it. Like I said, if I wasn’t living in New Mexico now, I’d be doing it. That is some damn good beer money come game day.
