Ask an Eagles Fan! (BGN Has the Answers)
Greetings, Vikings fans.
I'm DSmith215, one of the regulars over at BleedingGreenNation, the Eagles site. I'm stopping by as our liaison to you all as we prepare for our primetime contest on Sunday.
I'm decently football-y, and can answer questions you may have about our personnel, pressure packages, play-calling, injuries, how we'll try to defend and attack you, etc.
I'm looking forward to a good discourse with you all; the game on Sunday should be an interesting one with all the questions of who'll be playing QB for you guys, whether AD will be able to go, etc.
Please let me know what I can answer for you; some of my compatriots may stop by and chime in as well.
Here's hoping for an exciting game and no injuries for either team! (God knows the Birds can't deal with any more, with our 1st and 2nd round draft picks on IR.)
If any of you have questions about your love lives, finances, school projects, etc. I can answer those, as well. I am a versatile motherfucker.

Hey guys
Rec this so it’ll stick around. I don’t want it vanishing before the game.

1. Predict the final score
2. Are Eagles prepared for Brett Favre taking the field?
3. Will you be willing to part with Kolb offseason? He doesn’t deserve to be back-up anymore.
4. Should I play D-Jack this week (Philly ST doesn’t do anything for me)? McCoy, Maclin and Celik keep snatching all the points from D-Jack, hence the apprehension.
Hi, Izzie.
1. I don’t want to predict the score, because I don’t know which QB will be playing. With Favre throwing the ball, it’s a whole different game for us.
2. I think the Birds should be decently prepared for Favre. Our HC, Andy Reid, was his QB coach in Green Bay for a long time so he knows him pretty well. I imagine if Favre plays we’ll blitz the snot out of him; we have some pretty good DLmen and an absolutely vicious WILL named Ernie Sims who really likes to hurt people. If Favre plays, Sims will be going after him with malicious intent. Asante Samuel is back for us, so I’d feel decent enough about our coverage on the outside to send the house once or twice.
3. If the price is right, Kolb can be had. He definitely deserves a starting role. However, in his 6 full starts he was named player of the week either twice or three times, so I think the birds will want a lot for him. They won’t mind keeping him around, either, if they don’t get the offer they want. The asking price will be steep and without Chilly in MN Reid will be less likely to do the Vikes a favor. For what it’s worth, I think Kolb would be a tremendously good fit on your team.
4. With the problems many people think the Vikings have with their secondary, I would be willing to start DJax. Vick likes bombing the ball to him and I don’t know if you guys have the DBs to keep up with #10. Then again, not many people do. I think the gameplan against you guys will emphasize the deep throw, and Jackson’s our biggest deep threat. However, if you guys clamp down on Jackson, Vick will throw to #18 all day instead, so I see your point.

My pleasure.
Try to be good fans to other fans, you know?
Also, always working to break that Philly stereotype.

I don't think so, Abba.
We’d feel fine with Kolb under center, but we wouldn’t want Vick describing to your offense every alignment, coverage, blitz, and personnel package our D would have on the field. That would suck hairy donkey penis.

Vick's off the table
But I would be willing to part with Klob for a 1st and 3rd

Now that
the Eagles have crushed the souls of Giants fans, would they be willing to throw us a freakin’ bone?
Seeing as how we so graciously took Brad Childress off your hands for you?

Here's the problem.
The Giants are angry and match up very well against the Packers. Our magic number for winning the division is 1. We play the Cowboys in the last game of the season, and they always play us really tough. The easiest path to the division title for us is to beat you guys on Sunday. So, I’m hoping the Birds pour it on.
My worry about Sunday’s game is that AP is going to show up in Cthulhu mode and run all over the Birds. We’ll have to see how it goes.
Also, you only rented Chilly. Reid announced today that Brad can come back to the Eagles whenever he wants. So you gave us only a temporary reprieve.

Brad isn’t ment to be a head coach. Also as much as a dousch as he is Farve is a diva and everyone knows Dousches and Divas don’t mix.

Well
Maybe he’d be better as an assistant coach.
Or maybe he’s just terrible.
We might lose Marty though.

Question for you all
How do you feel about Joe Webb? Seems like he could make a living in the NFL as a WR/Wildcat QB. He looked like a mess v. Chicago but he also looked like he had some potential.
DTMWTD
We have no idea about Webb.
The only thing we know is that he’s not ready yet…..IMO, he’s not even close.
Then again, making your Rookie Debut in December, against a division rival that is competing for top 2 playoff seed would be tough for any rookie QB. :)
The Vikings have many needs this off-season, and not quite enough draft picks. So I imagine that Webb will be in the line-up, but doubtful he’ll be the starter.
Yeah, second this
Webb still is exactly what he was at the moment we drafted him: a very talented and intriguing athlete, one that we have a sense we just have to get onto the field somewhere, but we still have no clear idea where.
I don’t expect much clearer answers by the end of tonight, but one can always hope. I say that because I think the only clear answer we could get from his play tonight is if he plays great, then we know we need to stick with him at QB. If he plays terrible … well, that’s to be expected, at his raw level of development & against a good team like yours, so I for one am not gonna draw too many long term conclusions from that.
Not to mention starting him in the cold in December...
Webb is an Alabama man, and played pretty darned well for a rookie in the cold of Minnesota.
As far as him starting next year? I doubt it.
At WR he is intriguing, but we haven’t seen him even catch a ball yet.
Anyone with the skillset that Webb has will have the ability to turn a busted play into a positive play. The real question is can the QBs coach work with him enough to develop the arm enough for him to be just as good inside the pocket as he is outside.

Whats the Eagles game plan for M. Williams and L. Sheppard ?
Even the most sophisticated OC’s have nightmares over these two.
How do you think the Eagles will plan for that kind of threat ?
Also: As we all know, Vick like’s to run. The last time Vick played the Vikings he had something around 190 yrds rushing. How many rushing yards will he get this time against the Vikings?
I would test them deep early. Nothing opens up lanes like a bomb to start the game people start thinking of the game film vs the deadskins / cowboys where everything was downfield. That will pull the safties back so they can keep the play infrount of them. That will create more 1 vs 1 and Djack and Maclin are fast enough to make people pay.
As for Vick’s rushing yards he’s most effective when he gets small chuncks of yards 8 here 12 there another 3 to pick up the first down and keep moving the chains. The trick is to never let your DEs get behind him. If you get him spooked he will take off.

Hey thanks for stopping by
Just want to express appreciation. Sorry we are collectively not too into it here; frankly we are full into navel-gazing mode, trying to figure out what OUR team is about, and really not that cognizent of the team we are playing. I’m sure you have probably been in that place yourself at some point, and can hopefully understand.
How are you going to combat
the general apathy that has set in this year for the Purple? It is infectiously ‘meh’.
