What do we Know About Rhett Bomar?

We know that he had a rough journey to the NFL. He was the starter for Oklahoma in 2005, but was dismissed after some shenanigans with getting paid for some work that was never done. Sam Bradford later went on to QB that team.

Rhett later went on to Sam Houston State and worked his way into a starting QB spot in 2007 having a lackluster year. Then, in 2008, "Bomar started all 10 games in 2008 for Sam Houston State as the Bearkats went 4–6 on the season. He completed his college career as Sam Houston's all-time leader in passing with 5,564 yards in 19 games and career leader in total offense with 6,159 yards. He was a two-time All-Southland Conference selection and ended the 2008 season ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision total offense (354.2 yards per game) and No. 4 in passing offense (335.5 yards per contest)."

He was drafted in the 5th round by the Giants in 2008 and was the 3rd string to Eli and Jim Sorgi. However, once Sorgi went down, we traded Sage to the Giants ultimately relegating Bomar to the practice squad.

So, what else do we know about Bomar? Is he a potential QBOTF or will he forever be a "project" qb?
