Another Snow Job
My favorite sports writer for the St. Paul Pioneer Press had an interesting conspiracy theory take on the rescheduling of the Vikings/Eagles game. Just because this season is enough to make any Vikings fan paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get us.

I agree...
… with your paranoia.
So far I thought I was the only one spotting conspiracies and posting then on DN.
But realistically, no matter how paranoid I get, there’s no way I can take this big job on alone. We need to work together.

Sometimes...
It gets really hard to to fight the nagging suspicion that the NFL is intentionally trying to hose the Vikings. However, with the way this season has gone, it isn’t as if the NFL needs to help the process along.

It's our fault
With the Lions winning three games in a row and a flock of pigs flying by, I decided to send $100 to Roger to move the Viking game to Tuesday and it worked. So its either that or the Lions mojo moved north and west.
Call Scully & Mulder!!

However, I do have to agree, nothing is adding up. Last week was ok with a frozen field and a snowstorm, but not this week?

Vikings 2010: Episode 2, A New Hope - The Alliance for Vikings sanity have struck back. The evil Childress has been fired. Hope has been reinstated with the naming of Frazier as Head Coach.
I'd have more respect for the NFL...
If they would just admit that the move is about television viewing and not wanting to cut into ESPN’s audience for the Saints/Falcons game. But telling us that it is about public safety and keeping the Vikings stuck in a hotel in Philadelphia an extra day (making the week even shorter for them when they get ready to play Detroit), is ridiculous.

I agree
No worries, and also, I would have to agree with a few others, they would rather see Favre vs. Vick, not Webb vs. Vick, Webb vs. Kolb or Favre vs. Kolb.

As Frank Burns (on MASH) once said, "I'm only paranoid because everyone is against me."
Sure does feel that way (especially) this year as a Vikings fan. Thanks for the link to a good article!
Tom Powers is my favorite.
He reminds me of my cranky uncle, if my uncle were a sports writer. Sometimes I agree with Powers, sometimes I don’t, but he’s always pretty funny. With a season like 2010, it doesn’t hurt to have a good sense of humor.

Blitz Relentlessly
This makes me so mad. I hope the Vikings send a safety blitz on the first play on defense. Then keep the blitz pressure on Vick the entire game.
I hope the Vikings destroy the Eagles.
+26
That’s all. I don’t anyone else in the defensive backfield can get to Vick without embarassing themselves :(
That means Madieu Williams or Adullah Oblongata
Whiffing on a tackle in the backfield and Vick running for another all time NFL films highlight.
Or, Vick laughing so hard at the thought of Williams actually making a play on the blitz he overthrows DeSean Jackson, making it second down.

i'm not one to wish injury on a player
but if Vick were to get, say, badly beaten up in a game? I’d be on board with that.
Philly sports fans have nerve to make comments on class.

Do you hear that? That's the sound of the media ramming the Miracle at the New Meadowlands down your throat for the rest of your life...BAHAHAHAHA....
read much?
I said I’m NOT one to wish injury on another player, but I would like to see them beat him up. You know. As in, knock him around, hit him, make him feel some pain(the way the game is played). Geez, sounds like Philly’s gone soft. First, they don’t want to get their hair wet and play in some snow. Next, they’re going to cry when someone says they want to hit their QB. Time to change the Tamp Philly!

Now now. Tsk tsk.
The fact that Vick once was a sadistic, dog torturer and killer doesn’t mean that he’s still got sick recreational hobbies. Furthermore everyone knows that all it takes to rehabilitate one’s evil inclinations is to put on an Eagles jersey.
Since the season has long been over as far as playoffs...
…I hope Michael Vick absolutely annihilates the Vikings on Tuesday night to the tune of 500 passing yards and about 200 rushing with seven touchdowns…or something like that…for the sake of my fantasy championships.
I hope your team finishes last in the fantasy.

Ummm...too late for that...
…since I am talking about the championship game…you know, FIRST OR SECOND PLACE.

Believe me when I say...
…that I would LOVE to see the Vikings defense go into The Linc and shut their show down, but it ain’t gonna happen. Not with the likes of Madieu Williams. Sadly, the defense has gave up during too many games this season. That is, the games where they bothered to even show up to begin with.

can't disagree with you there
i think with all the injuries and poor line play, everyone can see why the offense has struggled, but the defense should be playing better than they are no matter how bad some of the secondary is. If Madieu is still on our team next year, i might not watch because he should not be starting in the NFL for any team, EVER
EJ, Chad and Antoine...
…are carrying the defense this year. If Chris Cook can get his bad knee right and get more playing time, he will be a good CB, I think. Husain Abdullah seems to have improved his third year.
by WilkesViking on Dec 28, 2010 2:35 PM CST up reply actions
agreed
i could watch ray ray walk after this year and not be too concerned. we could get the same production out of Robison IMO. I think we can be resonably optomistic about next year’s D when Griff and Cook get healthy. Griff was turning into a stud until the NFCCG last year.
I am pleasantly surprised...
…at how well the Vikings played last night against one of the more dangerous teams in the NFC this season. Joe Webb looked more comfortable with the offense since the Bears game. Send Tarvaris somewhere else for good. Joe Webb showed more improvement after one game than Tarvaris has after FIVE YEARS. Winfield played lights out and had a nice Strip-6™ of Vick for a touchdown. With the way he was rushing from the corner all night, I figured it would be a matter of time before he got to Vick and forced a mistake. Abdullah made some nice tackles as well.
As for my previous quote, I will gladly eat crow: “Believe me when I say that I would LOVE to see the Vikings defense go into The Linc and shut their show down, but it ain’t gonna happen.”
It DID happen. GO VIKINGS!!!

Paranoid?
It’s not that ESPN, NBC or any of the other sports stations dislike the Minnesota sports teams. They just like ratings and the money it brings from advertisers. I do think some individual sports broadcasters and talking heads dislike the Minnesota teams and do not hide their prejudices.
The San Antonio Spurs face the same treatment. The Spurs are a small market team and they are “boring” to some sports broadcasters and opinion makers. But in the tradition of the Vikings, they generally win.
