More L.A. rumors, but remain calm.......

H2g2-dont-panic_medium

Remain calm, all is well.........almost. It was reported yesterday and this morning via many sources that there might be a team heading to L.A. just in time for the 2012 season, but this latest rumor doesn't concern or mention the Vikings.........exhale. Good, normal color is returning to your face.

Anyways, Philip Anschutz has been rumored to have bought, in the process, hasn't approached or approached the team, depending on who you believe, to have bought a good chunk of the Chargers. He is, for some of you that may not know, also is the one exploring and looking at building a new stadium in downtown L.A. by the Staples Center. Coincidence? Who knows. There is no word from the Roski camp, the ones wanting to build in Industry City. Though many have stated they prefer downtown over Industry. While there is no doubting the ferocity of the Chargers fans, this could be yet another ploy to get a stadium built and just using Anschutz's name for leverage. Unless it is true that he has bought a large interest into the team. According to the stories, the Chargers would not exercise the escape clause for 2011. If the downtown stadium is given a green light this coming year and construction is started or scheduled by the end of next year or early 2012, the Chargers would then invoke the escape clause and play in the L.A. Coliseum for 2 years and then move into the new stadium.

While this by no means we should all start popping the corks and celebrate, it's still not the end of the world either.
