First Grumblings of FA Discontent

According to this article in USA Today, Ray Edwards is more than a little bit unhappy with the Free Agency system, this year's contract situation, and Goodell!

While I can certainly understand his point, it's also fair to say that he hasn't proved that his performance in the last couple months of the season is more than a fluke. He also knows full well that there's a salary cap that the Vikings have to juggle to meet and his own performance across his career doesn't merit top-caliber consideration yet. Ray's a young guy and he has time to prove himself, I think he needs to more patient.

Trying to compare his salary, as part of a 60-man team, with the league CEO's salary, is also pretty ridiculous. I'm not sure if this is part of the liberal anti-corporate wave that's been sweeping hte country, but when you compare Goodell's salary with what a typical corporate CEO is making, $9M doesn't seem out of line.

On the plus side, another comment that Ray made on getting some payback on the Saints, was reassuring. I want to know, with certainty, that when the Vikings next meet the Saints, the guys on D will be looking to even the score and rack up a few extra points of their own.

What does everyone think about Ray's salary, do you think he should be tendered more than $3M?
