Brett Favre to Be a Guest on Jay Leno March 4th

Yep, Favregeddon 2.0 has officially started, for those out there that are still actually worrying about this kind of thing.

Per ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert and Pro Football Talk, Brett Favre will be a guest on Jay Leno's new/old/new/old/whatever show on 4 March, presumably to talk about the Academy Awards or some such nonsense.  I really doubt that Favre's official answer will be revealed on that night's show, but hey. . .it gives ESPN something to speculate about for the next week or so.

I'm not sure if I'll get an opportunity to watch it or not. . .when you need to wake up at 0400 or so to get to work on time, watching stuff at 2230 is a bit of a tall order.  That and the fact that I, personally, don't think that Jay Leno has been funny since he was Johnny Carson's guest host. . .and even that might be stretching the definition of the word "funny."  From my limited late-night viewing experience over the past few years, there is but one star on late-night television these days.  And his name. . .is Craig Ferguson.  Now THAT guy is funny. . .has been ever since he was playing the role of Mr. Wick on The Drew Carey Show (one of my all-time favorite shows).

But for those of you that need to get your Favre fix, you now have your first opportunity.  But remember. . .he's coming back.  He's totally coming back.  Nothing else to see here, really.

Craig Ferguson is good, Mooga, F4...

Did you see the show he did with puppets? He hosted the show as an alligator puppet.

If the Raiders are willing to part with Asomugha the Vikings should get him. They would be crazy though, but they might take a 1st rounder. Al Davis is crazy. A few seasons back a wise man said “the Raiders have been terrible since Al Davis died”.

Oh yeah Favre, comin’ back… He will look into the depths of Leno’s chin and realize he must keep playing. Technically he never has retired. Hasent missed a game and we can expect 16, no 19 more.

Hard one(loss) to swallow, thats what she said.

I’m going to treat Favregeddon 2.0 like the South Park characters treated the Crips/Christopher Reeve episode.

In AP I trust

Also, add me to the Leno sucks, Conan is king side, even though I only watch Stewart and Colbert now.

I'll watch.

Until he says he’s not a Viking… he’s a Viking. And I really like seeing Vikings on National TV.

I BELIEVE...

Brett will announce his return

On the week of the Jeno Leno comeback – Brett will announce he will come back for one more try – I have watched and cheered for Brett for 18 years now – this year I considered it a bonus gift and put horns on my firehelmet and was there for the first packer game with tears of joy streaming down my face – Ted Thompson can suck it – Brett makes it official he is back and will be at post draft mini – I don’t have to hear all the crap from the media this time on will he or won’t he – So exicited on how good the offense will be with a healthy Berrian and Bretts admiration for Harven, Rice and Peterson – draft Brett a new right gaurd and get some def back help (our safeties need improvement) – already looking at next years schedule to see where I can catch a game – I live in Ft. Laurderdale Florida – after 20 years in the league Brett has one more thing to accomplish – Win a game in Dallas and hoist his second Lombardi in Jerry Jones’ face – JUST DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT – oh and by the way Minn’s first Super Bowl Win seals the deal for the new Stadium which gets called Farve Field – Skol Vikings

Favregeddon 2.0?

Maybe Purple Favregeddon 2.0, but overall this is like the 6th or 7th year he’s considered it. Maybe a certain Photoshop expert that frequents these parts could put Favre on a Windows 7 logo? :)

Favre on leno

with favre being on jay leno he could announce his return.but if he retire it would be done in news conference not on jay leno.

by subzero on Feb 25, 2010 4:27 PM CST reply actions

exactly

This is a strategic move by NBC to boost ratings for a crappy show on a crappier network. They could have booked him to be on March 4th or June 4th, the content of the episode is likely to be no different.

If they were really smart they would have had him on the day before the NFL draft. They just latched on to the first NFL deadline they could and put him on the day before. NBC sucks. The NFL needs to take Sunday Night Football away from them because they don’t deserve it.

I don't care what 4 says now & 0 says a lot
Farve : Actually at this point, I think most sane Viking fans or Farve fans know the routine by now. Ignore whatever he says until the Preseason and get on with your life. If he comes back yeh, if not OK the VIKES built their QB problem and they have to fix it this year as opposed to next year. TJ is a joke but SAGE may be good enough. Farve the coach -- I still think they should offer BF a QB / QB coach job then if his body give out be a QB coach fulltime. Then next year be QB coach / emergancy 3rd QB. Ease out of playing football into coaching football. He could train other QB’s to see what he sees and sitll stick it to the pack twice a year.

Chester - The team should have resigned Chester 6 months ago. He’s gone.

0 - says a lot
0 - number of teams interested in TJ being their # 1 QB
0 - number of teams interested in our offensive Head Coach being their Head Coach
0 - number of fumbles the Superbowl teams had in the Superbowl
0 - number of years after this year left on Chill’s contract without # 4 this year.

Is it 1950?

The years of the official player/coach position went out with McCarthyism.

by Cobra312004 on Feb 26, 2010 1:43 PM CST up reply actions

I will be watching #4

Do you think it’s just coincidence that he is booked on March 4? I think not! The man was destined for Super Bowl 44. He won’t make it to Super Bowl 444. Or will he?

I don’t know if he’ll announce his intentions on his retirement, but I do think he’ll rev up his new singing career with another rendition of “Pants on the Ground”.

1 more day to go

I wonder what they’ll talk about.

Will they keep football as a topic of interest, or more about current affairs?

Will there be any types of hint of his return or retirement?
Oh geez makes a guy nervous, huh? haha

by Deek on Mar 3, 2010 1:46 PM CST reply actions

Current affairs?

I hope not. I don’t really care what he thinks about Tiger Woods.

Comin’ back c’mon man!

Come back stronger than ever Brock!
