Brett Favre = Y.A. Tittle Redux

Ya-tittle_medium

via www.tigerrag.com

When I saw Brett Favre at the post game interview after the Saints game, I couldn't help thinking of the famous Y.A. Tittle photograph from the 60s which showed a battered and bleeding Tittle on his knees...Brett's a warrior, and warriors should go out when they are carried out...come on back Brett for another year...

If Childress has any sense, he'll arrange it so Brett is not getting beat up during training camp, or even attending until the second week...Favre knows the offense better than anyone, and he's shown this year it's not necessary to risk injury during training camp or pre-season.

Training Camp

Knowing the offense is only part of what training camp and the pre-season does for a QB.

It also gets him in tune with his receivers and his front line, knowing their signals and perfecting his timing with the receivers. By the 3rd game of the season, Favre was firing on all cylinders. I think he’d be at his best if he starts at the beginning of the pre-season in order to be solid as the year begins.

Give him whatever time he needs to make his decision, but obviously, the earlier he decides, the better for everyone. In training camp and practice though… let the man focus on the things he actually needs to focus on. He knows, he ran his own practices prior to showing up for the Vikings.

Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
SKOL!

Bring him back

Favre is 40 years old and has been playing pro football his entire adult life. He knows how far his body can go. The four preseason games plus the sixteen week regular season is hard on 25 year olds. If he wants to play another season minus the four preseason games, I say bring him back. He can work on his rapport with his team mates in the off season and come in and play in the games that matter.

Absolutely Great Photo

Yes, it reminds me of Farve’s season also.

Winning is not everything but it sure feels like it sometimes

If you are interested in comparison of Tittle and Favre in context of this year, it was discussed here a couple weeks ago.

Favre should retire

Favre should retire before he suffers an injury that could end his career. He is a sure first ballot hall of fame inductee with nothing more to prove.

don't forget to mention that he sucks too, multi-lakes

I give you credit for at least trying every angle on this :)

lol favre should end his career

before he sustains an injury that ends his career!!! i get it! you really need to either give up on this or go away, otherwise it’s gonna be a LONG, IRRITATING offseason.

I piss people off on a fairly regular basis. I cherish my right to speak my mind, whether I sound like an uneducated savage or not. I've never been accused of keeping what I think a secret, nor will I ever. Don't like it? I don't care.

Hello after 3 weeks i hope we can put our bitter feeling's behind us

As far as Brett goes i have mentioned i live near his home town and he is my favorite QB of all time,I also think he is the greatest QB of all time
I am kind of torn about this everything in my heart wants to see he back on the field doing what he loves and is so good at.
But i dont want him to end up like so many ex players who cant walk and are ate up with pain and getting hooked on pain killers again.
I truley feel that retirement would be a very hard thing for him this ois something he loves and has done his whole life.
I understand you want him back because of what he is still capaple of and i really think he will be back because he still can play and he is the toughest SOB to ever play the game.

On another note the NFC championship was the true superbowl it was between the 2 best teams in the NFL there is no doubt in my mind the Vikes would have beaten the Colts
We were able to get along before that game and we even had some laughs at each others expense I hope that will come back as the off season wears on

good luck next year
