Forget L.T. !!
So we didn't get LT. No big deal. Everything happens for reason.
Remember last year when TJ Houshmandzadeh did not sign? If we would of signed TJ then the Vikings would of never have drafted Percy Harvin, and look how that turned out.
Now is the time to give Albert Young a shot of becoming the #2 back behind A.P. Albert Young is an undrafted rookie in 2008 he played college football at Iowa, where he rushed for 3,173 yards and was named to the all-Big Ten team in 2007. Young quietly had 12 carries for 53 yards last season, and coach Brad Childress spoke highly of him on a radio interview last Friday.
If the Vikings feel like they really want to bring someone in then go after Willie Parker. They want to save money then Parker is the man. Or draft a RB in the later rounds. The Vikings have always been excellent in drafting players.
In my opinion i would go with Young. But who knows whats in Chilly's small mind.

Every player is evaluated
Each player on the team is evaluated at the end of the season. Each free agent is evaluated. Each draft pick is evaluated. The purpose is to get the best player at the position on your team. Obviously LT was evaluated higher as Young or a new draft pick.
Now we need to move to the second choice. We already have Young so we need to add the draft pick the Vikings staff finds to be the BPA at that time in the draft.
There is a player named Joique Bell from Wayne State that appears to be a perfect fit for the Vikings. I hope they review him for the draft boards.

The Packers, that’s who.

often
you overpay for what you get. though LT’s 5.2 million wasn’t extremely substantial, I think next year we’ll all agree that letting him get away was for the best.
The organization should definitely look later in the draft for a running back to fit the offense, or kill two birds with one stone with a Tebow QB/HB (maybe not likely :)

Here is what I now see happening. Vikings will wait as long as they can and sign Westbrook for a minimum contract since no one else wants him. Albert Young/Westbrook split time as the 2nd back.
I wouldn’t mind seeing us take a RB in this draft I just don’t want to see us take a back in the first three rounds.
I will try to say this again.
Brian Westbrook says he doesn’t want to play for a Dome team because of his knees. The fact that the turf is harder on his concussion issue doesn’t help either. The Vikings did not evaluate him as a better possibility than what they have now.

Please stop saying this
no one is listening they are in the post season hysteria where all is possible, no matter that he might be dead in a coma or a lacrosse player. He might make the team better!!!
It's a lot easier to love the Vikings when they win...
Oh. Sorry, I was worried. I thought all of Minnesota had gone deaf. :)

Every time any player is cut, there is always a group of fans who are saying “Hey get that guy.” Sometimes they have a point. Most of the time though our team doesn’t need that particular guy.

I have no Idea what Chilly is thinking
when it comes to Young but when I would watch him at Iowa he was amazing. I know a ton of guys cannot play at the same level in the NFL as they do in college, but if they can coach him up to NFL standards he runs like a gazelle in the open field…..he was a blast to watch hope he can step it up for us.

We can always...
Try to sign FA for other positions and use the draft to fill our needs…. Maybe we can take a later round RB to try to compete with Young. It’ll be interesting on how it all plays out.. I wonder what the Vikings front office is focusing on..
I sort of see that the Vikings were un-sure w/ LT so they ddin’t want to push for him real hard…
It wasn't that they were unsure.
They were sure. They offered him a role to play. They only wanted him if LT was 100% committed to the concept they presented (role player). Obviously the Jets offered him a different role or enough money to make the difference. They are not going to bring in a player just for the name. The front office actually believes that every move they make should be better for the team and that takes commitment by them AND the players they bring in.

Ya but we got spots to fill..
We can sign new players for the loss of CT & Hicks…
So far… I have yet o see what they have contemplated doing….
Maybe thru FA we can build up our O-line…
Young and Johnson
With them behind Peterson, maybe we don’t need anybody else.
I think the Vikings would have liked to have LT, but getting him did have risk. It’s difficult for running backs to have a better year once they hit 30.
It was worth a shot to get LT. I’m not sure who else we would want.
Foe now. Young, Johnson, and whoever we draft is fine with me.

And what nobody has even brought up yet
About TJ Houshmanzadeh is if he would have came here there would be no “Percy Harvin My Fav!”. I’d probably have some queer name like “Purple Giggity”. . . Not even kidding that was my second name option.
I love Twins Baseball and Minnesota Vikings Football.

lol,
that makes me laugh, like quagmire.
I piss people off on a fairly regular basis. I cherish my right to speak my mind, whether I sound like an uneducated savage or not. I've never been accused of keeping what I think a secret, nor will I ever. Don't like it? I don't care.

Well for that reason alone I'm glad the Douche didn't make it here.
