Bad Day?
This always cheers me up
well, in order to fulfill the 75 long word requirement:
I was wondering if you all thought MN had anything to do with players and their choices...I thought I picked up some crazy notion that LT and wife like the NYC area more than MN. While I would generally agree, does this play a role in landing top free agents? Do people generally think we are a barren wasteland full of ice? If I were an NFL star and had the choice of two losing championship caliber teams, I too would rather spend 21 weeks in NYC...
Just a thought.

Greatest. Play. Ever
That was the day I sold my soul to Favre. LOL
Ehhhh I think there is that idea that Minn is a frozen wasteland. NYC is well established as a the capital of cool stuff.
However if location is important why do players go to Green Bay, Buffalo, Kansas City, etc?
Players go to winners, regardless of location.
Money and a job is the most important to players.

If you think Minnesota has a hard time getting players to want to live here
(other than crazy mullet wearing hunters) just think how tough it is for Green Bay. Yeppers here’s the grocery store, and right there is the bowling alley, well that’s pretty much it for our tour of the city… Oh the Elk’s club has a pot roast dinner on Thursdays.
It's a lot easier to love the Vikings when they win...
was that last phrase..
off a movie??
sounded familiar..
hell maybe
my memory is so bad I can’t remember the last time I wait what was I talking about?
It's a lot easier to love the Vikings when they win...
Well if it's not from a movie
A very similar phrase is…
I just know I’ve heard a movie phrase go basically as…
Theres is this, there is that around the corner, and blah blah happens on this day… And that’s about it.
wow dude that was like totally moving
Seriously it almost brought me to tears.
It's a lot easier to love the Vikings when they win...
I try..
I should be a screen writer or something…
It’s too vague to research… And by the time I ever come across it… This fanpost will be old news.
I agree it was clever.
But I thought it was fish fry friday nights in Wisconsin?
Winning is not everything but it sure feels like it sometimes

Sounds really familiar now...
Maybe I had read it thru DN before under a different fan post from a long time ago. Wisconsin probably has several small towns, and given the humor of some people here, I could see it being typed up.
About that play
We can see three things:
- Chester Taylor was a good blocker, but he missed a LOT of blocks as well;
- McKinnie’s lazy ass giving up the block got Favre hit;
- #4 is a MYTH.

2 Things
Good eye, and deserving of dissection :)
1 – Chester Taylor made a strategic mistake, he was trying to be the ‘relief valve’. Bump the incoming rusher, then move into position and look for the dump-pass. The problem is, CT had two 49ers hanging back in Prevent-D to let him catch it but ensure he didn’t go anywhere with it. Favre ignored him, and rightly so. CT would have done better to hang in there and give Favre more time, but I think it was simply a case of CT thinking inside his little box.
2 – McKinnie needs to be replaced as soon as possible, which means, as soon as the Vikings can bring in someone who can do the job better than that lazy fool. I saw McKinnie playing like that quite a bit, all year long, before he claimed the excuse of an injury. When Favre can run up field to get into the play, it’s pathetic that the Vikings harbor a lazy lineman who thinks his job ends after 5 seconds each play.

Thanks and agreed. :)
1 – I liked CT and all, but I think way too many times he thought inside his little box.
It was not unusual for me to see him giving up the block to be the ‘relief valve’, even though he had defenders either covering him or in that Prevent-D you observed.
So, even though he was an okay blocker and a good pass catcher, he is not that hard to replace in the third down back role.
2 – I have nothing to add on McKinnie, you took the words right off my keyboard. :D
What I do have to add, is the possibility of the trades I mentioned on my mock and MarkSP18 is constantly mentioning in his:
Trade McKinnie for whatever we can get and get Gaither from the Ravens with our first round pick.
He’s just as good as McKinnie, but he’s younger and way less lazier.

Gaither
I’m all for getting rid of Big Mac on the condition that we have someone at least as good to replace him. Gaither looks like an awesome alternative, and I think he’s till available. To me, that would be like the Jared Allen trade; sure we give up a 1st, but we get a 1st round, #30 caliber, PROVEN player in exchange. They should pull the trigger on that.
The thing is, even with Gaither replacing Lazy Mac, and young Load on the other side, we still need to bring in some top talent to upgrade Herrera. Herrera is adequate a best and we need better than that. Let Herrera be the backup guy. On the other side, Hutch is a 32 year old, 9 season vet, and at some point we need to look for his replacement too.
If we got Gaither, I think we could get away with only drafting 1 offensive lineman.

Changing two players on the line again this year is risky.

What the?
My fan post has no video link. I clicked on an ad that started a diet video.
As far as NYC over Minnesota, I would think that if LT was looking at more opportunities linked to his career, like sports related commercials, or just being closer to major media, he would have more luck being in “the right place at the right time” in New York.
Too bad that he blew the chance of playing with the winners of Super Bowl 45.
I'd pick Minny over NYC
Why anyone would want to live in that overcrowded rat-cage, I don’t know. Honestly, maybe it’s just me, but the traffic alone is enough to send me looking for alternatives.
