The Bears were expected to be active in free agency and there is a strong chance they could land restricted free-agent running back Chester Taylor, Adrian Peterson’s backup with the Vikings. along withe the most talked about DE julius peppers will also visiting an friday at the bears.(wont talk any more about. that see week 15 carolina game for details)

It looks like Chester is going to go where the money is
I also heard he’s talking with the Titans. I guess he doesn’t want a ring, but needs a lump of cash to retire on. Or he could be looking at upping his price so Minnesota has to match it.
It's a lot easier to love the Vikings when they win...
The best move for the Vikings
is for someone to Overpay for CT, means we can spend a nice wallet full on a player that could help us out big time.
12 million for four years
Do you think that is over paying?

yes
I actually do, because I think they will cut him in 2 years TBH. We could eat Madieu’s contract, although very unlikely or pick up an EVERY down player.
12 million for a one down player is over paying..
Then I'm happy he got paid.
Seven million is garunteed and paid this year I believe that take Chester out of any cap issues for the next three years as he will only be getting payed abotu 1.5 million and that’s not bad for one of the best third down backs in the game.

Didn't think of that.
If we lose CT to free agency, probably for BIG $$$’s, we can sign a free agent to a similar contract. Do I have that right?
yes we can now sign someone to a 4 year 12 million dollar contract
Now who in UFA land is near that?

The only reason for Chester to leave
Minny would be $$$‘s because I’m not sure he’ll find a team that lets him be the feature back.
According to Adam Schefter
Filed to ESPN: Chester Taylor reaches agreement with Bears on a four-year, $12.5 million deal that includes $7 million gtd in year one.
SKÖL VIKINGS!
SHOW YOUR HORNS!
Again, according to Schefter
And get ready, Chicago: Julius Peppers is next.

Peppers got signed as well.
He’ll be a bear next year. Bears making strong moves. I’ll have to go to WCG and see how excited they are getting.

Big Mac
better get those feet healed up and put some work in this offseason so as not to get embarassed by Peppers at least twice a year.
I think Mac will do fine
As well I think Peppers is looking to play RE so Loadholt will be the guy on the cooker.
Finally, as someone who lives in NC, it will be interesting to see how Pep picks his game up, he’s worse than Moss for taking plays off and just sort of coasting.

Bah I had the backwards my bad
He plays both sides, so he could do either he seems to feel more comfortable on the left side (maybe likes going against a weaker/slower tackle…

$7 million in year 1...
I think we can get ourselves a pretty good FA with that.
SKÖL VIKINGS!

After all the work put in by the Vikings to retain Taylor, he’s headed to a division rival. Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times (who used to cover the Vikings … irony!) reports that the Bears have inked Taylor to a four-year, $12.5 million deal with $7 million guaranteed.

for 12 million over four years
I doubt we’ll land a doozie. Although I’m happy CT took them for all he could.
