Reynaud to be moved to the backfield?

According to Judd Zulgad's Twitter, it "Sounds like the Vikings might move WR Darius Reynaud to running back."

Now this obviously isn't the biggest news out there, but it is interesting. Apparently (this also from Zulgad) he was a running back in high school and also occasionally at West Virginia, so the switch shouldn't be too difficult. I dug up his stats.

From cbssports: "Had 236 carries for 1,889 yards and 37 touchdowns as a senior, with nine 100-yard rushing games"

And his college rushing stats, from ESPN:

YEAR

ATT YDS AVG LNG TD
2005

9 86 9.6 27 1
2006

14 221 15.8 57 0
2007

11 103 9.4 64 1

If this does go according to plan, it would probably mean the Vikings wouldn't target a running back in the draft since they would have Peterson, Young, and now Reynaud in the backfield. Because of this, we can now use a draft pick that might have been used on a running back to fill another key position.
