The Vikings Pick in Round 2 at Mocking the Draft
Gonzo's at it again. And I'll just go ahead and toss it out there now. . .there are a lot of you that aren't going to like the pick.
Comments
Not a fan, but at least it wasn’t worth the first pick.

Yuck
Tim Tebow makes me want to throw up. He will be a bust in any round.
If I get proved wrong I’ll apologize and eat my words, but right now I would feel embarrassed if we took him.
"American made, White Trash raised, and Bad Ass engraved"
Philip River was said to have just as bad throwing mechanics, coming out of College.
Tebow is just under the scope more because of his amazing college career.
Just throwing it out there No one can really say how he will adjust to the pro game until he plays in it. Yes the same can be said for many(all), but none more than Tebow. Colt McCoy might be the safer pick. I think both will be gone by the time the Vikes pick in the second, as some teams will have a hard on for both early in the second round.
Side Note: I like and respect Mike Mayock, but he has overanalyzed Suh’s negatives which are really none. He is the best player in the draft and will be a better pro than Gerald McCoy. No way he should rate McCoy higher. Same goes for Kareem Jackson being rated higher than Devin McCourty. McCourty is better and we will be lucky if he falls to the Vikes at 30.
McCourty will do. If the Packers don't take him first... they would.
Hmmm
I don’t see him being around when Vikings make their 2nd pick. However, if they do choose him w/ their #2 pick, I will not cry any tears…
Reasoning….. I don’t see Tebow as a off-the-bench 1st year starter. And quite frankly, I prefer to see that is how we use our 1st round pick. To basically get the opportunity to become 1st string and an immediate impact.
If Favre returns (which we all hope for) we wouldn’t be able to use a 1st round QB…. Yes, he would make for great garbage time, but than we also have to worry about trying to dump Sage/T-Jack.
Either way, I would be cool with the move in the second. But if we take some crazy great OL/CB in Round 1, and in Round 2 a great CB/OL is still in place…… I may feel a little worried with it…
If we took some of our late round picks to move up for a #2 spot to grab him, that would be okay…

that would be a great draft in my opinion

2nd round pick
you picked the 103rd ranked player with a grade of 6.1 with the 62nd pick this was a classic REACH his value is 3rd or 4th rd . look at what happened the last time the team reached for a ouarter back in the second round.WE CANT EVEN GET A 3RD FOR T-JACK. THOSE who dont learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
103rd ranked player according to who?
There are head coaches out there who consider Tebow a 1st round prospect, and there are coached (Jerry Jones) who wouldn’t draft him. Never before can I recall a more controversial pick. And who graded him a 6.1? Where are you getting your info?

I...
… really like this pick!
If there were any quarterback we should gamble on, ever… it’s Tebow!
How could you Gonzo. How could you
make the decision he is our QB of the Future but not believe in him enough to protect your future? I can understand a rational for picking him. I can’t understand the rational for not solidifying our future and then improving a Super bowl bound team with 7 great depth additions.

I like him in Round 2
He’s still a big fat question mark no matter where we take him, but late 2nd round money for a proven winner and an all-time character guy is A-OK with me.

Great Pick! Unrealistic, but Great! :)
If Tebow is worth grabbing, he’ll be gone in the first round. The Vikings will need to jump up to grab him, or not at all.
If no one wants to take a chance on him (unlikely) and he slips down to the 3rd or 4th round the way the ‘experts’ say he ‘should’, then you grabbed him at the right point. Your faith in the ‘experts’ is a bit too high, IMO. You got Tebow, but you got lucky, too.
BTW, Mocking the Draft says I have to wait 24 hours to be approved to comment there, and I had to agree to behave in a mature responsible manner. What a freaking joke! I just got done seeing comments from people who were turning Tebow’s name into a homosexual joke and using profanity. So much for Mocking the Draft’s standards, I think I’ll pass until they learn how to moderate their forum, or stop trying to insist that people behave well. I’m certainly not going to agree to behave nicely when no one else is required to do so.
Ah, ah,

From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
SKOL!
Gonzo,
Are you sure you didn’t select Tebow because he was the most likely to generate the most clicks and comments?
Jus’ sayin’,

GO to N F L . COM check the draft section, prospects grades you will find him at the top of the 5th page 6.1 grade.A REACH WITH THE 62ND PICK for a 3 or 4yr project with no more than a 50/50 chance of success. I say pick the best player on the team’s board and get a possible starter.
Like I said...
Ask 100 people about Tim Tebow, and you will get 100 different answers. If you go to ESPN, Scouts Inc has Tebow rated as a 78, which is a late 2nd-early 3rd round rating. I’m not saying ESPN is right. I’m not saying NFL . com is right. I’m just saying there are many different opinions out there.

Great Pick
I love this pick! I’m not sure why anyone would have a problem taking him in the second round. He is known as one of college football’s most successful leaders, he’s got a great arm, and is a really hard worker. I think the Vikings would be lucky to snag him. I think he’s got the potential to be a complete knockout, but people question his release. I’ve been watching ESPN and after the work he’s put in, it looks damn good to me (quick and accurate). I hope we are able to get this guy.
