ESPN's Kevin Seifert explains how the Vikings missed their turn in the 2003 draft, while still drafting the player they wanted, Kevin Williams. According to Seifert's unsourced report, it was a combination of phone lines being jammed and Red McCombs wanting to draft Kevin Williams a couple of spots lower. Another point of interest is that Byron Leftwich almost was drafted by the Ravens. It's too bad that Seifert didn't provide any sources with his report.
