Draft Tebow!

I've been having dreams that my beloved Vikings will select Tim Tebow in the first round tonight. I really want to see this happen for a number of reasons:

1. The Vikings are a Super Bowl caliber team RIGHT NOW. With veterans like Favre, Phat Pat, and Winfield, the window of opportunity may be very short. While not an every down starter, Tebow could be an effective offensive weapon at times. He could be a part time, Wildcat-type quarterback like he was for Florida's national championship team in 2006. The Vikings are solid on both sides of the ball, so building depth and addressing long-term issues are key in this draft. Tim Tebow would do that.

2. I  think Tebow will be a high-quality NFL player. He says he is driven to be a successful quarterback in the NFL, and I think he has the potential to do so. He is working on his mechanics and has shown he is coachable.A year with an all-time great like Brett Favre will only speed his development. Many commentators have speculated on this, and opinions are varied, but I think he will go to several Pro Bowls.

3. I really like Tebow as a person and will appreciate the media attention he will get. I admire Tebow's evangelical christian background and incredible work ethic. He is exactly the kind of player and person I want to be drafted by my favorite team. It's as simple as that.

4. T-Jack ain't the answer, folks. Sorry.

Conclusion: I think drafting Tebow is as high-risk and high-reward as we've seen, but I think he could enhance our Super Bowl aspirations this year and next year and get us our first ring. I really hope the Vikings draft Tebow!
