Well not really conclusion, because we are like ten years from the start of the season. A couple of weeks ago I made a post "are we getting better or worse" 67% poled thought we had gotten better, 17% thought that my HS wrestling coach was an ass (which we will take to mean we stayed about the same) 16% thought we had gotten worse. This being a highly accurate and scientific pole, we all now know that we are better then last season......ok just kidding.
Since that time there have been several really good posts on the OL. Through the posts there have been some really compelling arguments on how good the OL was last year. Despite being the number 2 scoring offense in the NFL last year, the OL did seem to lack. This seems to indicate that having a WOV (willy old veteran) in the back field can make things work even if your not getting pus h at the point of attack.
I say that barring injuries we will be better as team (maybe not for the first game depending upon recovering players). I think the running game is improved. I really hope to see TG and AD in the wye formation. Improved running will help the PA and reduce the number of sacks. And for gods sakes, lets run the ball more in the 4th QT, with two hard hitters running the ball, this has to be the time when we can blow DL's off the line in the 4th QT. I say pound em to their knees!
As far as the first game goes AD had 137 yards and two TD's (yes there was the other stuff). We should go after this team on the ground, keep hold of the dam ball and win by two TD's This is a prediction!
Poll
The vikings will
lead the league in rushing 2010 (22 votes)
have about the same number of ground yards as last year (11 votes)
Are you kidding me, we win by 3 TD's who care how many yards on the ground we get (31 votes)
