Sponsored Post: Best Vikings Duo
This post is sponsored by Blue Light. The Blue Light Refreshment Duo are throwing a massive party in their Refreshment Headquarters and they want you to be there. You could be one of the lucky guys who rocks the snowy outdoors by day and parties with the Duo and the Blue Light Girls by night. Just go to refreshmentduo.com to find out more about how to enter to win a ticket for you and a friend.
Over the course of their history, the Minnesota Vikings have had some great duos. Cris Carter and Randy Moss come to mind as a pretty good pair, as do Brett Favre and Sidney Rice. For the past couple of years, the Vikings had (arguably) the best backfield duo in the league in Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor, and no list of great Viking duos would be complete without a mention of Pat and Kevin Williams.
But I'd like to know. . .who is your favorite Vikings' duo of all time? Is it one of the ones I mentioned above, or do you have another pair that is superior to those?
Discuss this below. . .and while you're at it, feel free to click on the link above to get yourself signed up for a chance to party with some gorgeous women. Seriously, the girls that make up the Refreshment Duo are hotter than fish grease (™ Ian Joseph), and you and a friend can get the chance to part with them and many of their friends, thanks to the good folks at Labatt Blue.

I take that back
Jared Allen and the opposing Quarterback’s blind side
Alan Page and Jim Marshall? They made for a very dominant D-line for a long time. I don’t know if you would consider them a duo or not

That should really be a trio though
You can’t leave out Carl Eller. If anything it would be Eller and Page as the two Hall of Famers, but that would just reignite the frustration over Marshall’s continued exclusion.
I picked Carter and Moss because they will go down as two of the top 5 or so receivers to ever play the game when it’s all said and done.

You know...
… Vikings football didn’t start in the 90’s.
How about Carl Elller an Jim Marshall? Tarkenton and Rashad? Tarkenton and Foreman (one of the most underrated RB’s of all time)?
What begins in fear usually ends in folly.

Ding- Ding- Ding
you got it !! I guess that puts me in the speed camp
A bird in the hand is worth about 10.99 at KFC and makes me lick my chops
Yummy!!!!!
Tarkenton + Sammy White
Everyone forgets about Sammy White but I think his numbers were better than Rashad. You could even go Sammy White + Ahmad Rashad, that’s a pretty good duo…
But Carter + Moss would definitely beat it.. not even close.

Tarkenton and Foreman
This is the best duo in Vikings offensive history.
Page , Marshall and Eller best defensive group ever compared to their peers.
Imagination is more important than knowledge. A. Einstein
Foreman and Tarkenton
Sammy White and Ahmad Rashad in 1976 were pretty impressive.
Alan Page and Carl Eller, or Page and Jim Marshall, or Eller and Marshall, take your pick.
Moss and Carter are pretty damn good though, and belong in the discussion.
As do Chris Doleman and Keith Millard.
"Whoever said that the pen is mightier than the sword never encountered automatic weapons."
Eller and Page
I’m old-school.

and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

Single year
You have to go with Moss and Carter. If you are looking at multiple years Page and Eller.

this is a no contest
randy and chris all the way. They are not only alone 2 of the greatest recievers in the history of the nfl, they were on the same team. Game over.
Are you freakin' kidding me?!?
Not one single vote for Sullivan and Herrera. Can’t believe it.
Having the priviledge ofseeins Carter/Moss many times .
Watching Moss develope those Carteresque hands was priceless . I still see a little of Chris come out of Randy on many of Randy’s catches last year . They terrified their opponents !!
Jump in the way back machine
I think Chris is right he could still be tying. Being the homer I am I’ll have to put a North Dakota boy in the mix. Dave Osborn and Bill Brown
here is my best duo.
bud grant and metropolitan stadium.
Favre and Rice?
I think you gotta be together for more than one year to get into a conversation like this, don’t you? I went with Carter/Moss. That was a pretty unstoppable duo right there, I think I’d put the Williams behind them just taking into account who was on the list!
The best
All the duo’s above are very good, and that is what they are. Duo’s. I voted other because of the 70’s team. I do however think in terms of duo’s Moss and Carter were the best duo. The seventies team was filled with so much talent that I don’t know if you could actually consider any one duo for this poll. Yes, Allen and Page, and Marshall and Page, and Page and Eller, you get the point that is a unit of four D-Linemen and they were arguably one of the best groups of all time. On the other side of the ball you had Tark, Rashad, and Forman. Sorry I’m only 32 and was born the year they went to the last Super Bowl so not sure of all the names. You could also throw in Carl Lee and Joey Browner best DB duo from the 80’s. Although it was mostly Browner who was the animal there. You could also throw in offensive linemen Gary Zimmerman, and Randal McDanial. Those two should have gotten some recognition.
I got it!! Can't believe no one has posted this awesome duo already
Remember the awesome two headed backfield of Alfred Anderson and Allen Rice?? OK, maybe not…
Fred Cox....
… and whoever held the ball.
Money.

He also invented...
… the Nerf football. I think he invented however they make the smooth outer layer that always wears off the foamy middle.
Much more money.

Another good oldie would be...
Paul Krause + Bobby Bryant.
Krause all-time INTs leader. A real football God. Bryant was a solid CB too.

My fav duo...
Was supposed to be Anthony Carter and Cris Carter!! My 2 favorite receivers from the Big Ten… but they didn’t have a stable qb when they played together and AC was starting to slide… so I’ll go with (1)Rashad &White, (2)C.Carter & Moss, (3)C.Carter & Reed, (4)C. Carter & A.Carter…(C.Carter played a long time!!) and a shout to HammeroftheGods.. That was Paul Krause who held for Fred Cox!!
Yeah thanks
I actually found a photo of that, and saw it was Krause. I was kind of little to remember details like that, but I do remember both those guys.
