You know it!

I’ll have to skip a crucial co-ed kickball game to be there, but hey sometimes you have to make sacrifices!

BTW Gonzo, love how you slipped “Or if you’d like to ask Gopher fans about what they think about the Vikings playing at their swanky new on-campus stadium when the Vikings’ new field is being built in the near future?” in there :)

Wasn’t it guaranteed last year by you too though?

by TrevorR on Jun 6, 2010 11:10 AM CDT up reply actions

Yes!

But, that is before I knew that the NFL and it’s officials would allow it’s Elite Players in a NFC Championship Game to be put in the line of dirty plays by the opposition and make NO calls!

If not for that, Brett Favre would have led the Vickings to a Victory in Super Bowl XLIV!

Do you get it now?

REVENGE is coming Sept 9th, 2010, and it won’t be pretty!

Hey Saints Fans, Please for goodness sakes hide all your women and children!

Excuses, excuses. More like if the Vikings didn’t turn the ball over 5 times they would have been on their way to the SB.

I’m not trying diss the team or anything, just stating that your turnovers had more of an effect on losing then the referees did. Would you disagree with that?

by packallday555 on Jun 7, 2010 2:42 PM CDT up reply actions

Well, the refs obviously greased our ball in between plays :)

Haha I see, that explains the TOs then!

by packallday555 on Jun 7, 2010 3:40 PM CDT up reply actions

Best EXCUSE ever

I nearly wouldn’t be surprised though…

I could see it totally happening..

Between each play, a ref reaches into his pockets that are full of vaseline and lightly rubs up the ball to grease it up.

Waitin;g on Brett Fayre

I have been a Viking fan since 1967, and was always a big Tarkenton fan. If the Vikings let Brett Fayre HOLD THEM HOSTAGE this year I am done with the organization. I live near Tampa and followed the Viking because of the GREAT Tarkenton.
I will rout for the BUC’s if Brett Fayre plays another down for the Vikings.
If he’s so great why didn’t he run 5 yards and fall down so the VIkings could go to the Super Bowl. He made a tipical Fayre mistake and cost the TEAM. And as we all know there is NO I in TEAM.

by JTB1967 on Jun 4, 2010 7:21 PM CDT reply actions

well get ready to have the bucs be your new team cause favre will play this year for are vikes and we will have a stellar year to bad for you cause a real fan will stay with his team no matter what be it 1967 or 2067 well good luck JTB1967 SKOL VIKES ANYWAY!!!!!!!

by cali viking on Jun 4, 2010 7:48 PM CDT up reply actions

If Fayre is so great where is his committment?

Either your on the TEAM or NOT, which is it? He is holding the other QB’s baack and giving the team a wait and see attitude. He throw tor alot of yards at Green Bay because they were playing catch up from his mistakes. He is durable, but it’s time to say soooooo loooooonnng!!!!!!!
He’s on an mega EGO trip so I think he’sone because he cannot top last season
And another thing I livedthrough 4 Super Bowl losses and stayed whith the VIKES.
They were a team and again thier is no I I I I in TEAM.
If hes’ pro. he wouldn’t hold up the TEAM!!!

by JTB1967 on Jun 7, 2010 8:52 AM CDT up reply actions

Are you serious?

The guy is over 40.. Just turned a Grandpa… And received a beating of late hits in the NFCCG, and you want him to committ now?

He obviously “WANTS” to play, but is just making sure his body can handle it. Isn’t that something we should respect? We owe him another chance, as we basically are begging him for 1 more year. The reason some people are complaining is part of the same reason he got out of GB. Give him time to decide, because, there is no reason to make the committment early and find out his body may not be able to handle it. Would that be fair to us fans? No…. He is being realistic, and does not want to committ to something he could potentially not follow through.

by Deek on Jun 7, 2010 9:12 AM CDT up reply actions

Jtb u r a bitter old man just cause u watched us loose 4 super bowls doesn’t mean u have to give up on the vikes favre is a legend and wiil come back this year and lead us to the promise land he makes this team that much better and he’s allowed to take as much tome as he needs as a fan we owe that to him u might not think so but the man has never missed a game he’s a stud old school he would play with a broken Leg the man can do what ever the he’ll he wants he’s a football god . So go sit in ur rocking chair or use ur cane and root for your new team the bucs a true fan never gives up on his team what u think ur the only one that gets pissed off every year we don’t make it we all do but there’s all ways next year and where are the real Viking fans right here cheering for there vikes so good luck with the bucs sour pus and SKOL VIKES +4!!!!!!!

Chuck Norris!!

Goes to bed w/ a Breff Favre night-light!!!

by Deek on Jun 7, 2010 3:56 PM CDT up reply actions

Hey man I feel your pain

Honestly I wish Favre would just state he’s coming back but not hitting OTA’s or training camp. I’d be 100% cool with that (actually I do think he should go up there but I don’t think he should have to practice all that hard.) that’s more of a team issue as you say.

However, stating he’s not good is sheer rubbish he has a phenomenal year last year and you have got to respect that. He is also our best hope of making it to the SB this year. I have to respect that as well. TJ and Rose are not going to be able to cut it. If he wants to wait around well then hell let him. It’s not his fault we have no one to back him up. It’s ours.

It's a lot easier to love the Vikings when they win...

by Grime on Jun 7, 2010 2:18 PM CDT up reply actions

Look on the bright side

Imagine the pressure on T-Jack!!!
He must be practicing like crazy just to prepare for the “just-in-case he doesn’t return” factor….

by Deek on Jun 7, 2010 3:57 PM CDT up reply actions

I'm shocked he hasn't!

Seems like the Vikings have already complete pandered to all his requests so I don’t get the hold up. My understanding is he can show up whenever he wants and participate in whatever he wants…yet he still hasn’t said anything. That is the kind of stuff I just don’t get.

Either he is truly undecided (which seems so hard to believe) or he is just really into the drama and wants to maximize his exposure. I really hope its not the later…

by dsludo on Jun 4, 2010 11:28 PM CDT up reply actions

Are you serious?!

It seems that a lot of people look at that last play and choose to put the blame for our NFCCG loss on Brett Favre. When I watch that replay I question whether he would have even made it to the line of scrimmage, much less gained five yards. Even as I watched I felt like we HAD to have a play and he did everything within his ability to make that happen.

Favre’s effort during that game cemented him in my mind as the greatest stud to ever take a snap. Aside from the early era when players actually played both sides of the ball, few QB’s in the modern history of the game are even still on the field after the hits he took. While Tark may be one of them, that would be true because of his elusiveness, not his toughness. Favre surely made mistakes, which were forgivable given the fact that his pocket resembled I-95 South. Either way, I thoroughly believe that I have never watched a more heroic performance by a Viking than than his on that day.
