Interview with Brian Robison
Hey Minnesota Vikings fans,
It's been a while since I've posted an interview with a current Minnesota Viking.
I got a lot of positive feedback from the Albert Young interview I conducted. The last one I posted was with Albert Young, my fifth interview.
I had a chance to interview Brian Robison, DE, out of Texas, fourth round draft choice back in 2007.
Here is the link for Brian Robison's interview. I hope you all enjoy it. http://wp.me/pSdJf-Gq
Make sure to follow Brian on twitter at http://twitter.com/Brian_Robison
Thanks,
-Max Strauss-

Sort of a hard interview to comment on.
Nothing really stood out as extra interesting.. He left is sort of boring…
His answers are what a person of the general public would expect.
The transition from H.S. to college = competing with bigger/faster (Most would assume that as a given).
Most successful athletes view their coaches from H.S. as like a huge mentor in their lifes.
Actually, I’ll go a little more in-depth… You a professional athlete… And you make all sorts of money and your a big guy who probably needs a lot of protein and your favorite meal is hotdogs.. Ha, strange..
Seems like a hard-working guy who doesn’t get enough reps.. But I’m glad we try to cycle him in as much as possible.
I hope for the best, he seems to make an impact when he plays.
Yeah, You learned something. But thanks for the comment.

No problem.
I will recall a conversation that I think Brian Robinson & Jared Allen had…
Something along the lines of “I’m sorry, you probably won’t be getting a lot of reps playing behind me, since I will rarely come out, because I like to play every down.”
But its nice to know we have a guy like Brian on our team in case he is needed.
Yeah, true that.

Brian's reply
That’s why I’ll slip inside and play a little DT on occasion . I’m better suited for the Left side with my run stuffing ability . Maybe Brad will let Everson Griffen learn some hand technique from you Jared . I,ll slide over and compete with Ray on run plays . I’m a team guy and willing to play OLB in a 3-4 if needed . Let’s just go win a Superbowl and celebrate !

Pretty cool to hear/see the Scripture referance for favorite quotes
nice to know he has some kind of spiritual base. I remember going to the dome and seeing Carter be one of the first guys to center field for prayer after the game. That always impressed me. I know a lot of guys do that stuff for show but…..
Brian’s references are not typical he must have put some time in to come up with those.
Nicely done

Great work!
Thanks for doing the interview, Max, any word from our Purple Dudes is always welcome :)
The only thing I would suggest is less about his pre-NFL days and more relevancy to the here and now. More questions about the Vikings today, how he felt about other players, his thoughts on what happened in the NFC CG and the other team, his expectations for the coming season, how different Viking QBs impact the defensive side of the team, his thoughts on EJ Henderson’s likelihood to return to full speed, does he think Brinkley would be ready to step up as defensive captain or would they turn to Leber, that sort of thing.
Again, however, thanks for the update :)

Nice to see your name on here!
Pro Interviews is more to let the fans know more about the personal side of players.
2nd interviews are more about those. If they happen, which only one has.
But, for now, it’s all this personal information and connecting with the fans.
But thanks, happy you liked it.

Addendum
BTW, I see that you interview players from lots of different teams. I think that’s awesome that someone’s out there actually doing this, most article writers just regurgitate opinion instead of report.
The downside is that you probably don’t have the time to immerse yourself in the issues of any one team, to know all the concerns that fans have. I would suggest that when you know you have a Viking interview coming up, drop by here and solicit some question suggestions from the DN crew, I think folks would be glad to help out and you’d get a better idea of what a broad base of the fans are most interested in knowing about a given player and his circumstances.

I agree with what you are saying with how they “frame” the news to show their opinion, not the news, it’s just a story.
I really don’t have time to look at issues, and sometimes, I don’t have time to ask them questions about the upcoming, because it’s really, when they give me the way to do the interview, I need to send them the q’s immediately, so they take me serious, and don’t push it away, like if I did…
But, cool idea. Thanks though. It’s great to hear from you, I haven’t in a while, since I haven’t had Vikings’ interviews.

I think you had asked us if we had any questions for one of the people you were going to interview back in the day
Not sure if that worked for you but it would help you deal with not knowing enough about the guy to ask pertinent questions. (not that this review wasn’t well done mind you).
It's a lot easier to love the Vikings when they win...
Thanks.
I ask questions more on a personal level, but yeah, back in the day with Albert Young.
If you still have questions, I’m more than willing to see if I can add them to the list.
Nice to see your name on here again, as well.

He offers good inside info on occasion .
He always seems to be pre-occupied with real life stuff when he is to be interviewed . He stays and tries to maintain the interview . Good guy . Versatile player .
Thanks. True that.
Happy you liked it.
