Around SBN: NFL Owners Vote to Change Trade Deadline

Vikings Defensive Coordinator Leslie Frazier told reporters that Cedric Griffin will definitely miss the season opener against New Orleans.

This shouldn't surprise too many people since Griffin blew out his ACL about six months ago. The good news is that Griffin's recovery seems to be coming along just fine.

Lito Sheppard and Benny Sapp are the front runners to fill Griffin's starting CB spot at the moment. Stay tuned for more Training Camp news!

No brainer .

He wasn’t to be fully healed until the end of Jan. . I’m wondering if the CB’s are looking good because Rice and Harvin are out . Or because Jackson is over throwing and Sage is tossing multiple picks . There is no better way to rush Brett to camp ! This is the other QB’s opportunities to shine . After the off-season . Why can’t they be on it !
Hopefully Grif can continue to progress . I like that he is shadowing the coach . It is a sign of his progression and need to this team .

Interesting..

Crazy how you say how that the poor play by back-ups would really push Favre to return.

Would/could this be potentially a sneaky trick to sort of show Favre that he is heavily needed and would easily be successful? Depends on how you look at it. Seems that your conspiracies theories are starting to rub-off on me, and I am creating my own.

I think the thing(s) that would make a return for this season a little more tempting this year would be the following:

A better defense (Secondary-wise), why? Fixing one of your weaknesses takes the pressure off the offense more. Imagine having a defense that keeps the opponents from scoring… Just keeps the offense in game management mode.

O-line (Rookies), if they shine, Favre can feel like he has the protection he needs.

RBs, if they are good…. They’ll be Favre’s best friend.

Time will tell.. How these players work out.
