Around SBN: Dissecting Nick Diaz's Positive Drug Test

Our friends over at The Phinsider are reporting that the Minnesota VIkings have acquired WR Greg Camarillo from the Dolphins for an undisclosed draft choice CB Benny Sapp.

Over the last two seasons, Camarillo has caught 105 passes for 1165 yards (11.1 yards/catch) and two touchdowns.

Is Benny Sapp any good?

And you guys are getting a very solid WR in Camarillo, he has some of the best hands in the league, never drops passes. He has made several one hand circus catches in his career.

Sapp is serviceable...

But should never be a starting, top two CB. Very aggressive, but tends to lead to stupid penalties. Nice depth to have at a reasonable price (which it seems like your Phins needed), and it opens up playing time for Asher Allen and Chris Cook on our end. Good deal for both sides.

Do you guys feel that confident about Hartline as the #3?

Hartline is a very polished reciver, the thing he can do well that camarillo couldn't is stretch the field

But he doesn’t have the hands Camarillo has, since Camarillo can catch a football while he’s sleeping.

I like the trade.

I liked Sapp…but let’s be real…he’s made a lot of boneheaded plays at CB since he’s been here. I know he didn’t try to, but he let his emotions get the better of him many times in the past.

I hope we get to see more of Chris Cook due to this deal b/c I think Cook has what it takes to be a true starting CB in this league…

Like someone else said “good deal for both sides.” We needed more depth @ WR right now…and we have enough CB depth at this moment.. I’m betting that Sapp woulda just been sitting on ST all year anyway.

I'm still a Minnesotan at heart...

Yeah

I felt we had too many bodies at CB this offseason, so the trade makes me feel easier about that AND we get a good possession WR.

Sweet

feeling a little bit more comfortable w/ the Greg move..
Hopefully we can see him shine..

great to hear he doesn’t drop passes. And w/ a guy like Favre throwing to him, that’ll help even more!
