There have been talks of a certain someone over the past couple weeks. And while everyone is trying to stay informed with all the hooplah (that's right, I used a word I never have) surrounding a certain QB of ours , however some things, especially an event taking place today, just strike me as a bit over the line. A video today was released onto NFL.com as well as other sites, which contains several reporters and an eager to get away, Brett Favre. The video begins with Brett approaching his car, trying desperately to not converse with the rabid dogs waiting for him outside his oversized pick up truck.
This is where I interject, and say that is it not bad enough that there is practically 24 hour surveillance of Brett Favre's house, with reporters waiting for the slightest sign of ANYTHING from Favre.?
TWO REPORTERS HIDING IN THE BUSHES BY FAVRE'S HOUSE, AS HE WALKS OUT THE FRONT DOOR, AND STEPS INTO HIS CAR, NOT YET SHUTTING THE DOOR. IT IS REVEALED THAT FAVRE READS HIS TEXT MESSAGES ALOUD, AND SAYS ALOUD WHAT HE WILL REPLY.
Favre: "Would I like to go to Steve's house and watch Packers highlig- haha, oh Steve you kill me."
FAVRE BEGINS TO TEXT BACK.
Favre: "No no, I think after the beat down I put on them, I could happily retire, at least, they'd enjoy that"
R1: WHISPERS "OH MY GOSH, FAVRE IS RETIRING!"
R2: "ALERT THE PRESS, TOMORROW, AUGUST 3RD, THE HEADLINES WILL READ, "FAVRE TO RETIRE, VIA TEXT MESSAGES"
And that's about as comedic as I get, sorry for the lame attempt. As long as you get the point I'm trying to make. It's bad enough we surround the mans house, and the press makes up lies, to get a reaction, and fill all of our diapers. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love Favre as much as the next guy, but to wait outside his car for him and practically trap him, is just wrong to me.
R1: "Damn they knew it was a lie."
R2:" We have to get more physical, I think Favre is working out tomorrow. Let's trap him at his car like we're psycho fans waiting for an autograph"
The video proceeds, and R1 asks Favre whether or not he can "Have a minute" Favre declines, and attempts to get into his car. But the press can't just leave the man in peace. R2 steps inside his door, which prevents him from closing it, or just closing it and smashing the man until he retreats. He then forces his questions on Favre, and Favre once solidifies his skills as an actor and claims ignorance, and that he hasn't made a decision yet, and then shoves away our R1, R2 and their army, and leaves. Is there a line? I understand the media has to have it's story, but is there a line that doesn't need to be crossed? Don't get me wrong, I want to know what Favre is going to do to, I mean I already have a general idea, but I would like to know like NOW, whether or not he is coming back, but pressuring the man, and becoming a pack of story hungry zombies outside his car, isn't going to make training camp end any faster, which isn't going to make Favre return any faster. I'm afraid, these reporters need to be burning down the Mankato training facility, or somehow convincing Chilly to cancel Training camp if they want an answer out of #4. And standing in the mans car door of his truck? Unnecessary. Maybe it's just me, I just feel when old Favre is ready to come back in about three weeks, he will do it.
R1: "I knew we should have told Minneapolis Star Tribune, that there was a deal where Favre would come back and demand a trade back to the Packers."
R2: "Oh, and just WHO would've bought THAT load of Aaron Rodgers?"
Once again, don't mind the laughless humor.
But, your thoughts?
