Comcast RedZone Channel Offering Freeview This Weekend
If you look off to the sides of this here blog, you'll notice that Comcast has taken over the advertising on the outside with their RedZone Channel "Freeview" scheduled for this Sunday, September 19.
We've gone over the merits of the RedZone Channel on numerous occasions in this very space. With the RedZone Channel, you're going to get an opportunity to see every touchdown from around the NFL, and you'll get to see it all commercial-free. For fantasy football players, it doesn't get a whole lot better than that. The RedZone Channel is fast-paced and exciting, and this weekend, it's free for your viewing pleasure. . .and, if you decide that you like it enough to add it to your Comcast cable package, you can do so for the low price of $7.99 for the entire year. That's only about a quarter a week. . .at the risk of sounding like Sally Struthers, for less than the price of a cup of coffee, you can see every touchdown in the NFL every weekend.
So, if you have an HD television, turn it to Channel 406 starting at noon Central time. . .or, at least flip there during the commercials of the Vikings/Dolphins game. Standard definition viewers can fly over to Channel 727 to check out the RedZone Channel as well. And, after the Vikings/Dolphins game is finished, you can use the RedZone Channel to keep up with the action from ALL the 3:15 PM Central time games, which this week encompasses the following match-ups:
Seattle Seahawks at Denver Broncos
St. Louis Rams at Oakland Raiders
New England Patriots at New York Jets
Houston Texans at Washington Redskins
Jacksonville Jaguars at San Diego Chargers
Enjoy, ladies and gentlemen!

Best. Channel. Ever.
With no Vikings game last Sunday, I turned it on at 11:58 AM and didn’t need to touch the remote until 6:45 PM. It was glorious.
But get this—since I moved to St. Paul from Minneapolis, it isn’t on Channel 406 anymore! It’s on 268 now (or 266 in standard definition). Just an FYI for fellow Ramsey County residents.

Couldn't agree more!
I picked it up for 2.95/Month here in MT and it is the best 2.95 ever spent. There are no commercials at all and non stop action. I felt like I was getting skull F*&#ed by the NFL for a few hours last Sunday…
If you can’t spring the enormous cost for sunday ticket, this is an absolutely great alternative!

Sunday Ticket Cost
Why does everyone think the Sunday Ticket is an “enormous cost”? Doesn’t one spend at least that much going to one, possibly two NFL games? I live 4 hrs from the nearest NFL stadium (not HHH) and have watched every Vikings game since 1996 on Sunday Ticket that I haven’t gone to. I think it is not only reasonably priced it’s the greatest idea ever!
How much is the Sunday ticket? And why is this RedZone cheaper than Sunday ticket?
And thanks for the info about change in channel for Ramsey County residents.
