Final Dolphins/Vikings Injury Reports Released; Harvin Questionable

Add a hip injury to Percy Harvin's ever-increasing list of issues. Hopefully he'll be on the field ready to go on Sunday afternoon. (Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)

The final injury reports for this Sunday's game between the Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings have been released.  The Dolphins have only three players listed on their injury report, but there are a couple of major ones on there.

Defensive lineman Jared Odrick, Miami's first-round selection in this year's NFL Draft, will miss Sunday's game with an ankle injury.  In addition, the Dolphins will also be without starting inside linebacker Channing Crowder, who hasn't practiced all week with a groin injury and is also listed as out.

The only other player listed on Miami's side of the ledger is defensive end Ikaika Alama-Francis, who is listed as questionable with an illness.

Minnesota's side of the injury report, obviously, is a little more lengthy.  While they don't have anybody listed as "out" or "doubtful," they do have four player under each of the other two designations.  The biggest name on the list is WR Percy Harvin, who was limited in Friday's practice after sitting out on Thursday with a hip injury.  He's listed as "questionable," along with cornerbacks Cedric Griffin and Chris Cook (both with knee injuries) and defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy (knee).  On the "probable" front, we have running back Toby Gerhart (knee), center John Sullivan (calf), offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie (finger), and quarterback Brett Favre (ankle).

So there are your final injury reports.  We'll be keeping tabs to see if either of our injured cornerbacks can come back for this Sunday's contest, and we'll be keeping up with Percy Harvin's status as well.  Keep it tuned right here, ladies and gentlemen!

plus our d-line needs to pressure henne, if he gets any time, he could start hitting marshall.

The media is really playing up all the Harvin talk

Every article I see on him now from local and national outlets are painting him as a perpetual ‘day to day decision’ on the basis of a missed training camp and now a hip issue. The team and Harvin have come out with very promising news on the hope that Harvin’s migraines can be eliminated or at least better managed. And the hip injury? Supposedly just a bruise. Seems to me like he might be in the clear soon, and ready to be a reliable contributor. But I guess that wouldn’t make for an interesting news story, would it?

Have no fear ???

HARVIN : He had what he called a hitch in his hip . He isn’t held up in any way physically . I hope he was in the film room and catching balls with Brett .
C.Cook : He is wearing a sleeve on the Knee . It doesn’t matter . They don’t want him to catch it on the turf . He will wait until week 5 .
GRIFFEN : Week 5 again . The Dolphins are thin on both sides of the ball . In the Trenches . They are thin at WR and CB too ! Griffen will be full speed for the four week War starting in week 5 .
BRETT : Is Brett ?
KENNEDY : Depth at the position allows him to sit in Miami and sip on a beer if need be
MCKINNIE : He will wear a glove . With the cast sticking out . He says he will file it down to get more flexability . He did admit to pain in practice .
SULLY : Childress is a liar ! Sullivan had ankle suurgery after the Saints game . I guess being from upscale Connecticut doesn’t stir the interests of ESPN . Who is based in the state .
TOBY : I have a strange feeling that he had a surgery or something after the Bowl game . He is a mystery . I wonder when the truth will come to light ?
I see a line up similar to last week . They have been hitting #4 and #5 wrs on third down . Jared on a gimpy Long will help prevent the second and third looks . I hope EJ shadows Ronnie Brown . I see Henne is pumping himself up with his love of Noise in the Dome . Maybe the Wall will have him hearing Ringing instead . I see two Dolphin starters knocked out of this game . Remember ……. Brett had 25/33 TD’s in Our Dowe last year . Marino once said nobody will break his TD record of 420 . With two Brett will be the only one in the history of the NFL to have 500 !!!! I wonder how many other records Mr. 287 will break ?

by gothicpurple on Sep 17, 2010 8:37 PM CDT reply actions

He's already broken all of them..

now he’s just putting distance between himself and Peyton, who is pretty much the only one who even has a chance of catching him. And that is still iffy.

drama

I wonder how much of the injury report is real and how much of it is a shell game. Get the other team unsure about who they will be facing.

I disagree about the Dolphins wide receivers....

… I think they are very good. I just think they have a crappy QB. If we can pressure him, and stop the run, the defense will be fine. We can survive without Griffin and Cook. But… man it would feel good to get those guys in there.

I hope Percy is 100%. We need him desperately. We are so thin and wide receiver right now, it is really scary. One guy goes down and man, we are going to suck.

Berrian needs to step up and earn his big paycheck. After one injured season, now if he’s 100% he needs to step up and perform.

The thing that scares me about the Dolphins

and Henne is that they’re decent on deep-routes. And right now, that is our weakness. We give up the huge play in the passing game a bit too often. We did it last year, we did it last game, and I can see it biting us on sunday as well.

cover 2

bend but dont break . we didnt give up 300 passing even .316 pass and rush and 14 points to the team that is the defending champs. D was pretty dam good. dont know what game you watched when it was time to hold we did except for end of game when we abandoned the run and our d got wore out but thats chilly ball for ya.

F the Dolphins

Just get after their ass & we will be fine. This is not a game we can afford to lose. The D will rise to the occasion & put the heat on Henne.
